Rating: Outstanding
Reviewer: Terry W.
I used these fins in Cozumel a few weeks ago and love them. They provide good power swimming into current with much less effort than my prior fins. The fins are light weight and easy to pack. I also like that they are positively buoyant, helps me stay more horizontal in the water and keep my fins high in swim throughs. I had a hard time finding fins that bit properly, these feel like they are custom made for my foot because of the quality of the foot pocket. I would buy these fins again and again.

Rating: Extremely pleased

I have been diving since 1993 and I have been replacing some of my dee equipment. I noticed an extreme differance the first dive I used them. These fins are very responsive and virtually effortless to use. I actually had longer down time since the fins did all the work. I would strongly recommend these fins.

Rating: Lightweight, super fast, run a bit large
Reviewer: David H.
Upgraded to these for a recent trip. Very lightweight...good for packing when airlines charge 175$ now for overweight! These are very comfortable and efficient fins, but they run large. I am an 10.5 mens (wide) and with 5mm booties or solid reef shoes the MED was perfect.

Rating: Change is hard
Reviewer: Alice L.
I had talked to someone on a trip in November who loved the fins and described their many positive features so I decided to purchase a pair. My first hope was they would be easier to pack than my current huge pair of split fins, slightly easier but just as long (x large size). I spent a week on a live aboard using them for the first time and had I not been stuck with them I probably would have dumped them the second dive. I was used to heavy split fins with negative bouyancy and the Sea Wings are positively bouyant. After 400 dives with the other product this was a learning curve. By the end of the week I loved that feature as it allowed me to hover for pictures without worrying about what my fins might hit. I did get a few leg cramps which I have never gotten ever before but I think it was because of the change in kicking method. As I became more comfortable with the new fins the cramps never occurred again. My final evaluation after 17 dives with these fins is they are very good and I will recommend them to anyone as long as they give the change some time to become comfortable.

Questions and Answers for ScubaPro Seawing Nova Adjustable Spring Strap Fins:

  • Shipwreckedinyc:

Im looking for a decent travel fin that I can fit in a carryon bag with a 22" long interior. Whats the overall length of these fins in a size 13?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

We do not have the length measurement on these fins, but they are WELL over 22".

  • Ken:

Im curious as to how heavy these fins are as compared to the Mares X-Stream fins. I was in a shop the other day and was pleasantly surprised at how light the Mares were. When doing a lot of travel, weight starts to weigh into equipment decisions 9no pun intended there). Can you give me weights of these 2 different fins? Thanks.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Ken, the weight on the ScubaPro fins are 4.25lbs. Then for the Mares X-Stream the weight is 4.1lbs. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822

  • Karen:

I am thikning on ordering fins as present for my son who will be a new diver. I am concerned about sizing-my son wears a mens size 13 shoe. Will the extra large be large enough?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Karen, if you order in the size range of the tennis shoe size of your son you will not go wrong.

  • Carlos:

i currently own some large promate binar blade fins which i have no complaints but im thinking about purchasing the seawing nova fins and was wondering if they accommediate booties and, but more importantly, what size should i considering purchasing. im a size 9 so should i buy a medium set or go large like my promate fins?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

These fins are designed to use boots. Order according to your shoe size, if you are in between sizes go up to the next closest size.

  • PK:

I am looking for a new set of fins. I currently have APS Manta Rays. I am 6 2" and 220 lbs, mainly vacation diving in Hawaii or Belize, so size and weight can be an issue. Wanted something to help with air consumption and was researching splits. Narrowed it down to Mares Raptors. any thoughts?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

The Raptor will be more efficient because it is a true split fin.

  • Thomas:

Which fin gives you better preformance for the cost, the Scuba pro seawing nova or the Mares X-stream. is there any other purchases I need to make when purchasing either fins?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Both of these are high performance fins, the Seawings probably have just a bit more power.

  • Kervin:

Where can i Buy a One-Piece only Scuba Pro Seawing Nova??? I lost my other pair when we dive last time, when it fell down into the water while the boat is sailing fast.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Kervin, the manufacture does not sell just a single fin. They only sell them as a pair. You would need to buy a second pair then you will have a spare.

  • Sandy:

I have had Scuba Pro seawing nova fins for 3 years. Today both fins split at the hing. I am diving in Cayman. Dive master said this is a common fault he sees. However, he said the newer models have been reinforced on the side of the hing. Can you tell me about what Scuba Pro is doing to fix the problem? I love the fins but am hesitant to get another pair if this has not been fixed

Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello, check directly with scubapro. The phone number is (800) 467-2822

  • parrothead:

Id like to get a pair ScubaPro Seawing Nova fins as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She wears an 8 to 8 1/2 size shoe, what size fins would you recommend? And is the adjustable strap on these the same as the ones offered separately?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello, going by your daughters size you would order a size small. As for the straps this fin comes with spring straps that are self adjusting.

The Seawing Nova combines classic SCUBAPRO fin technology with the latest innovations in hydrodynamic design and cutting edge materials. This fin has the power, acceleration and manoeuverability of a paddle fin with the comfort, efficiency and effortless speed of split fins.
The articulated joint allows the blade to pivot and the entire blade is able to generate thrust. Pivot control technology ensures the most efficient angle of attack is maintained no matter how hard or softly you kick, generating thrust without drag or wasted energy.
Clean water blade geometry for optimum propulsion. Water is free to flow onto the working section of the blade, drag is reduced and thrust increased.
Variable pivot control ribs insures that the most efficient angle of attack is maintained across all strengths of kick.
Ergonomic foot pocket with extended heel plate insuring ultimate power transmission with less leg strain.
Durable Monprene® construction making SeaWing virtually indestructible.
Wing tips arc upwards, increasing high-speed stability.
Marine quality bungee heel strap with custom adjustment system for total comfort and convenience.
