Really it is a good choice lots of pro and, form me only one cons: the size chart is not very accurate, so when you choose your size, you better jump inmediate up instead the right one (and i´m not cheeting with my weigth) Hay que tener ciudado con la castlli de selección de talle, ya que no es muy exacta, preferible una talla mas arriba que justa

  • kwang:

my weight 83kg and 178cm tall. which size B.C jaket fit for me? How much regulator and octo set? thanks kwang

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Kwang, depending on your waist size you could fit into either the size medium, or size large. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.

  • Deen:

My wife is 1.65meter and weight 56kg with waist of 26, What size should she get?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Waist and weight are the most important, and the BC should fit snug rather than loose in the waist measurement.

  • William:

Is the large and XL the same as indicated on the order large/XL what size is it?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Yes this BC is very adjustable.

  • Chin:

    1. For small size, what is its weight? 2. For small size, what is its buoyancy, i.e., buoyancy of the BC alone?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

The bcd's weight is 6.3 lbs. We do not know it's buoyancy, but as with all bcd's when empty it's neutral to slightly negative. The lift capacity is 22 pounds. Other than the true weight of the unit, if you are worried about luggage weight, the other questions you are asking are not typically terribly significant.

  • Chin:

Hi Bob, To my previous question, you answered 6.3 lbs. for the weight the small size BC. But the catalog description states 4.4 lbs. for medium size BC. So, you are off by nearly 2 lbs. Can you check it again? To me, the weight of any gears is the primary consideration. Most my dives are solo. The 13 cf. pony bottle with regulator that I take with me weighs 7 lbs. So,every oz. of weight reduction helps. At present, I carried 75 lbs. totally (all gears together).

Aaron  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hi Chin, The weight was incorrect on our site. We are having the website corrected. 6.3 lbs is the weight for the BC.

  • Ben:

Hi, would I be able to use this in cold water as well? It is labeled as a warm water/travel BC and I want to know if there is a reason for that other than the light weight. Thanks!

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Ben, yes you can use this in either warm or cold water diving. They designed this BCD to be a travel friendly BCD. Then when you think of travel diving you are thinking warm tropical diving. This is just a light weight BCD that doesn''t take up a lot or weight in your checked bag.

BCJ-1800-BK - TUSA Voyager Travel Light BC

TUSA's BCJ-1800 Voyager is a lightweight and compact BC ideal for warm water divers or the constant traveler. It offers TUSA patented features such as the integrated Weight Loading System (W.L.S.), which permits easy weight loading and release, the Independent Harness System that was developed to significantly reduce weight and structure, and the Ultimate Stabilizing Harness which has two separated rails to increase the tank’s security and prevent it from rolling.

This is a lightweight and compact BC ideal for travel and warm water diving, weighing only 4.4lbs/2kg (size M). Buoyancy is controlled by TUSA’s patented O.P.E.V. quick inflate/deflate system and the heavy duty 840/420 denier nylon shell provides superior strength and durability. Additionally, the Voyager can be rolled for travel and features a unique console sleeve, on the left side, for streamlined routing of your gauge or computer console.

TECHNOLOGY

Independent Harness System (I.H.S.)
The Independent Harness System isolates the BC jacket's harness from the air cell, tightly supporting the tank even with changes in air cell inflation/deflation. The I.H.S. prevents tank slippage and eliminates any gaps between the tank and your back.

Ultimate Stabilizing Harness (U.S.H.)
TUSA's Ultimate Stabilizing Harness completely eliminates tank roll and delivers an amazing fit. The U.S.H. securely holds the air cylinder in place with optimally placed rails and brings the tank closer to the body increasing tank control while reducing weight.

Service and Repair (BCJ)

Q: Can I get replacement AWLS pockets for my BCJ?
Yes, replacement Velcro and mechanical AWLS integrated weight pockets are available, please contact your TUSA authorized retailer.

Q: My BCJ bladder is leaking air or has been punctured, can it be patched?
Your BCJ will have to be evaluated to determine if the size and location of the puncture can be repaired. Please contact your local authorized TUSA retailer.

Q: What is the proper care and maintenance of my BC?
Rinse the outside and inside of the BCJ with warm fresh water thoroughly to stop the formation of salt crystals on vital components. This should be done as soon as possible post-dive and prior to allowing your BCJ to dry. Once rinsed, line dry completely and store partially inflated in a cool dry place away from heat, electric motors and other sources of ozone. To maintain the BCJ, annual service/inspection by an Authorized TUSA retailer is required. This is also a prerequisite to retain the warranty.
