It is the most comfortable BC I have ever worn. I love the weight pockets and dont need a belt anymore. lots of places to attach stuff too. The only thing that is kinda a negative is that the deflate does not always get all your air out and you have to you your manuel vent on your right. it is fun not having to hold your hose above your head though :)

Rating: So Nice
Reviewer: Joseph M.,
I had read a lot about the Mares Autotrim BCD and finally found the Dragon BC on sale so I decided to give it a try.
I took it for my first dive and was so impressed if how easy it was to load the weights (compared to my old BC) and how comfortable it felt (the back support is nice)walking towards the entry point.
It took a little getting use to the control being in a different place (no more raising your left arm to decent or ascent and the sound that it makes as you release air is a bit funny. Once I used it for a short time I knew I had found a great BCD and am VERY happy that I decided to take a chance on it.

Bought this BC a few months ago before the prices went up and Ive really been impressed by it. The Air Trim system really can spoil you after using traditional BC systems, not to mention its probably the best looking BC out there right now.

Rating: Dragon Air Trim
Reviewer: Doyle Sullivan,
I used my new Mares Dragon AT for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It took about 2 seconds to become spoiled. The power assisted deflation worked better than I expected. When one pushes the deflate button, the purge valve makes a distictive noise that that makes it easy to know how much air is being released. Also, no bubbles to disturb your view. Dont plan on using the side pockets for much storage.

First of all you guys have been great, thanks for all the information. One last question about the Mares Dragon BCD. How long has the Airtrim option been around, how reliable is it, and what do you think of it? How do you manually dump air if it fails? How good is the oral inflation system if it fails? Have you ever heard of a runaway inflation type failure, is it possible?
THANKS

This type of inflation system has been around for some time. It isn't all the different than the typical hosed inflation system on any other bcd, it's simply mounted differently. To manually dump air, there are a couple of dump valves. One on the back and one at the shoulder. The oral inflation system, to me, isn't the most convenient in the market, but it is definately effect and easy to use. I've not heard of any stuck power inflators or faulty inflation systems but if it did occur you'd handle it as you do any other bcd by simply disconnecting the LPI hose. Over all, the system is the same in function and design as most any inflation system. It is simply mounted in a more streamlined manor.
