Does this come with the transmitter?
This is not an air integrated computer. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-17/009441/Suunto-Vyper-Air-Nitrox-Hoseless-Wrist-Dive-Computer-with-Digital-Compass.html
I know this question is relative. But are dive computers like this one worth the cost for someone thats just finishing up OW certification and getting into the sport? I am planning on taking the advanced course next.
Spending the money now is better than getting something you'll just want to upgrade in a year. I got a higher end dive computer when I was 12 years old am still using it. Remember the function of a dive computer is longer safer bottom times at all the recreational depths. Over time it will easily pay for itself compared to using gauges.
So which is better a console computer or wrist? I just purchased my reg and console with standard gauges and was thinking of leaving that is and having the wrist mount. Also is this particular model a good one? I was looking at this and also the ZOOP but I like the backlight on this one since we will be doing a night dive in advanced class.
These are both great computers. The back lite is great for night dives because your dive light is so bright looking at the computer you can't see it or the reflection blinds you. The wrist mount is a good idea because you'll never "go fishing" for your gauge or computer.
