Rating: Great computer

Very easy to use online free training. I lost the signal very briefly on one dive put the unit closer to transmitor and everything was fine . it hasnt happened again.I spoke to a tech support person whon repairs these and clearly told me when you need a new battery you must change the o ring at that time. I love the automatic count down feature when you reach your safety stop. I am 54 and have trouble reading close up but I can read the unit fine

The VT4 was everything it is claimed to be, but I have only used it for a week. Plenty of options but well organized and customizable so that you get your screens easily when underwater.
Main quibble so far is that the compass calibration is not as quick as I would have thought.

Love the product! I am a new diver and it worked flawless on my first dive without my instructor. Thank you Oceanic for making a solid product and making me more at ease on my first out of the class dive! Best of all it is a cinch to program and the large backlit screen is easy to read. I read some reviews about having issues with the transmitter I did not experience this at all with my dive. However, once I uploaded my dive log to my computer it showed me that it had loss signal at 55 feet. However, this was only for a brief few seconds and it picked the signal right back up. I like that I didn’t even have to re-sync the transmitter.

I had the VT 3, but I love the new VT 4 more. The menu function makes it easy to change settings and program your screens. It is so user friendly and I have had no problems with it.

The VT4 is a great dive computer. It is easy to use and works great. I dive with my 2 sons that are 12 & 13 so I like that I can monitor their tanks as well as mine.

This is a fantastic computer. Had a little trouble with the owners manual as it is on CD and my computer wouldns read it. Put on another and no problem.

Lucy:
Is it possible to turn off the audible alarms? Are there visual alarms as well?
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:

Lucily:
If I purchase it without the transmitter, is that something I can easily acquire later if I decide I want it?
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Lucily, yes you can. If you go to Oceanic Atom/VT Dive Transmitter Only web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-67/008043/Oceanic-Atom-VT-Dive-Transmitter-Only.html. Then all you would have to do add the serial number into the computer and it will start to keep track of your air pressure. If you would like to place an order or have any other questions please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.
Laura:
Is this product downloadable to a Mac computer?
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Unfortunately not. The Aeris, Oceanic, Sherwood and Genesis computers are PC/Windows compatable only.
laura:
Can you recommend a dive watch computer with compass that downloads to a Mac? Im looking in the $400-$800 range. It must be easy to use and read. Ive only been diving for two years, with 15 dives logged, all in the Florida Keys.
Im diving in Zanzibar this summer!
