can I use GSM G diver underwater comm unit with the Predator mask? Also do I need to buy the microphone or the head set to listen underwater?
Hello Waseem, if you have this unit you will be able to talk to other divers with this unit underwater. Now if you are going to want to talk to the surface you will also need this unit: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-168/029058/Ocean-Reef-M100-Portable-Surface-Transceiver-Unit.html. That will let you talk with the surface tender.
how much is it shipping to Russia? How long? Thank You.
Hello Sergrey, if you add all the items into your shopping cart and checkout using Amazon checkout. Once you enter the billing and shipping information hit the recalculate button and it will calculate all of your shipping and duties to your location. This item you are asking about is out-of-stock till 10/15/2012. So if you placed an order today using Amazon checkout you would see this to you around 10/29/2012 going out standard shipping.
Would this Unit work with a wireless speaker system. I work in an aquarium enviornment where talking to guest outside the aquarium while underwater would benefit the learning experience.
you would also need this item and rig it up to a mic system http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-124/029485/Ocean-Reef-M-105-Digital-Single-Channel-Transceiver-Surface-Unit.html
So when I buy this for my mask how does the guy up top hear me??
Hello Ida, you would also need this: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-124/029485/Ocean-Reef-M-105-Digital-Single-Channel-Transceiver-Surface-Unit.html. To talk to the surface. They would need to put the transducer in the water for communication.
OR033109 - Ocean Reef GSM G.divers Wireless Diver Communicaton Unit
The underwater communication allows a great evolution of the diving activity and an outstanding improvement of the underwater instruction
and education. besides, the underwater communication is also making the diving activity safer and more enjoyable.
The new gSm G.divers transceiver (high performance communication system) expands the diver’s ability to communicate with others verbally.
The ultrasonic transceiver boasts the autonomy of approximately 30 hours in receiving mode, a range of operation of 200-250 meters (calm sea
water), lightweight and sleek design. It is a powerful, single channel and inexpensive pTT (push to talk) underwater wireless communication unit.
The unit automatically activates upon contact with the water and it uses a 9v alkaline battery with a “low battery” alarm which beeps every 30
seconds when the battery is low. The gSm G.divers communication unit is the perfect addition to any training class or guided tour
and operates on the same frequency as all other OCEAN REEF units and most popular wireless communication units on the market.
gSm G.divers uses a d-mic, a special microphone with the housing sealed by hydrophobic membrane which is permeable to air, but prevents water from passing through the electronics.
The membrane’s reduced thickness limits any reduction of the vocal signal. The permeability
of the membrane keeps the internal pressure equalized with the external pressure, enabling
the microphone to be used at practically any depth. Each gSm G.divers comes with the
NACS™ (Neptune Adjustable Communication Support) (code 33054). The patented NACS™ is an
adjustable support arm for the gSm G.divers and other OCEAN REEF underwater communication
units. It can be installed on the left side of the mask and prevents the communication unit from
hanging on the mask strap. by relieving the weight of the communication unit, the NACS™
also allows the mask strap to slide easily through the buckle; thus, the strap can stay loose while
the mask is donned and the communicator stays out of the way. The NACS™ can be adjusted for
tilt and distance between the communication unit and the visor.
