First dive with computer was great. So many options! Take the class! There is so much info you should learn prior to use. Pre set everything then dive. Computer logs it all for you. It has options that you can use under water. Just scroll through screens. HUGE screen. Visible in bad conditions, big numbers, flashing red light for quick rise. Easy to read graphs, going to take class again to relearn what I forgot. Compass is installed for easy usage. Quick connect is great for storage. CONS... no light weight hose available without changing quick connect. Temp is logged as coldest only (I think, still learning).

this is to be used as a spare one for me or a complete unit dive regulator, spare regulator and dive computer, by my wife when she dives. i have an earlier model and it seems to work just fine. mine is the detachable unit. it works fine but i wonder if it could become detached during use if it came in contact with objects. just wishing for a lock ring or something with mine.

If youre looking for an air-integrated console, this should be at the top of your list. Easy to read, intuitive to use, not too conservative and good download functions. Easily held by a mini-retractor, make sure you get the quick disconnect for travel.

The Datamax Pro Plus 2.1 Integrated Dive Computer is a nice, easy to use, dive computer. It is easy to read and operate under water and provides good information without too much messing around. Reading the log after a dive is intuitive and informative.

Just upgraded my 12 year old Oceanic computer. I love these Oceanics because of the large digital readout....BUT I love the new Oceanic computer because there are many more features on one window, unlike before. I used to have to change windows to see TIME.........now the added features or Temperature, added compass, No Deco and Current Time are on one window........its smaller, lighter, and more compact!!!!!!!!!!....plus, you can now detach the computer from the hose when traveling..........a great computer for those who cant read small digital readouts!!!!! I just got back from Belize and did several dives. This computer is great. It took the guess work out of everything. I dont have experience with other computers to compare it to but I cant imagine needing much more. The only downside is the cost of the USB cable and software to upload the dive information. The back light worked great during my night dive.

This computer is an upgrade from an older Oceanic Data Pro Plus 2 computer. It functions very much the same but is air integrated. I really like the larger screen. My previous computer lasted several years and dives, and I would expect the same of this. Scuba.com was outstanding in preparing and shipping my computer in a timely fashion.

what can I say? This is a great product and the price cannot be beat!! It would be nice if the manufacture included the data cable but seeing as I saved so much on the computer, the extra for the cable was no big deal.
I love doing business with Scuba.com!
Questions and Answers for Oceanic Datamax Pro Plus 2.1 Air / Nitrox Integrated Computer:
patrick:
Id like this dive computer with compass and quick disconnect, but couldnt find both together. Do you offer at what price? I see the quick disconnect hose, does that work with every datamax?
Thanks
Patrick

Good evening,
I am looking for a new dive computer. I have been diving a mares rgbm mc1 that is not air integrated for years. I have enjoyed the computer, but when I bought it, I planned on buying the USB cable as I got close to filling the log. However when that happened, no one carried the cable anymore. So now I am looking to replace it.
I am looking to be in the 600 range and wanted a recommendation.
Here are the most important features to me:
1. User replacable batteries preferably with hot swap so that I do not lose information.
2. Pc downloadable with a big enough log for an extended dive trip away from the computer, preferably 30+ log.
3. Nitrox compatibility
4. Quick release
5. Compass
I have narrowed it down to 3 computers and wanted to know the differences and if you had any recommendations.
Those 3 are:
1. Oceanic data Max pro 2.1 (I also wanted to know why you show this computer 2x on your site. One with a retail of 719 and a sale price of 689. The second has a retail of 859 and a sale price of 599)
2. Aeris atmos AI
3. Mares puck
I am looking for this computer to last me hopefully for 10+ years.
What is your recommendation?
Thanks,
Paul

:
Hello Paul, Thank you for your inquiry I am recommending the Aeris Atmos AI Air/Nitrox Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect. Not only for the price but for the features and benefits of a fully air-integrated computer, a compass, quick disconnect and a large easy to read screen, boasting a complete console with a small footprint. You can also order the optional Aeris Dive Computer Interface Cable which allows you to down load the dives into a PC and/or lap top. Please note, prices and availability may vary. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-16/009042/Aeris-Atmos-AI-Air---Nitrox-Dive-Computer-v.2.html If you have other questions, need help or would like to place an order, please contact SCUBA.com by calling 800-247-2822 <> 949-221-9300 or e-mail us at: info@scuba.com
Peter:
I am a new to diving. My wife bought me a air nitrox computer. Can I use it for just air or do I need a different computer?
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Peter, the default setting is for air. If you do decide to go Nitrox you will need to enter the % of O2 before each dive. If you have any other questions please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.
Jim:
This product appears to be listed twice with a price difference of approximately $90. What am i missing? The Cobalt is listed first and then two consecutive listings for the Oceanic Datamax Pro Plus 2.1.
Help?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
One is only with computer and compass, no quick disconnect.
Rick:
What is the difference between the Oceanic pro plus computer for 599.95 and the one for 689.95 besides the price? Thanks
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
The $599.95 is computer and compass no quick disconnect.
Sherry:
is there a difference betwee the Oceanic Datamax Pro Plus 2.1 and the Oceanic Pro Plus 2.1 (the word "Datamax" is not in the title?
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Sherry, they are both the same computer. The DataMax is the newest version of the computer.
JAMES:
Does this model have quick disconnect, safty stop count down timer, air consumption capabilties? What do the customable alams consist of? How many can be put into the comp.?
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
This particular model does not come with the quick disconnect. The other features are normal features to most all air integrated dive computers and are included in Oceanic''s. The customizable alarms are audio and visual both and can be set for turn around gas, time, depth, and other user settable choices.
Mark:
Reference the Oceanic DataMax Pro Plus 2.1, does it have sea and fresh water settings?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Because this has Automatic Altitude Adjustment feature it will adjust for the salt or fresh.
