I bought one of these for myself and one for my wife. This is my 4th computer (been diving for 20+ years) and I can easily say its the most robust, lightest and most useful computer Ive owned. Scuba.com has been an outstanding company. I used to order from LeisurePro but I often got products that had obviously been opened and perhaps used and returned. I also received factory defective equipment too. Scuba.com has always sent me well packaged, sealed, factory-fresh equipment.

For the features in this price range its either the Suunto Zoop or this guy. Bought the DRAK interface as well but had to buy different software to be able to use on Mac OSX. I download my dives using the DRAK interface and MacDive for OSX since Mares doesnt provide MAC software or Windows software than will work under Bootcamp or VirtualPC emulators. At first it didnt download at all with the MacDive software but after a few days of emails to the software developer, it has not failed since. Solid solution for divers using MacDive on OSX and DiveLog on iPad. I can see depth profile, SAC rates, Air start and end, and lowest temp.

Used it on two dives recently and it worked very well. Getting a console with the additional compass was the right move. Its very easy to use.

I purchased this unit for my wife, and she is very happy with it. The only problem is - it is difficult to get the log data off the unit for entry into the log. Essentially, she has to bring her entire regulator assembly to the table. Is there an after-market quick disconnect that can be used with this unit? Many thanks, Ged Smith

The Aeris Comouter Disconnect is what you would need. This will allow you to review your dive log with the need of having your entire regulator with you.
