Questions and Answers for ScubaPro Weight Belt:

  • mark:

    My waist is 50". Should I get a XL or a L?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Mark, if you gain or lose weight I would suggest going with the XL size.

  • Karen:

Im trying to replace a weight belt I already have and is worn out. Do the pockets close with velcro? I have a small waist (i.e., the small size seems right) but my old one has 4 pockets and I like the symmetry of two pockets per side of my body. Will the medium with 4 pockets adjust enough to fit me?

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Yes to both questions! This one should work for you nicely.

  • Taylor:

How much weight can I hold in this belt?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Taylor, depends on what size you get. Each pocket will hold 5 lbs so if you got the 6 pocket you would be able to hold 30 lbs. If you have any other questions please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.

  • shane:

I am looking for a belt to accommadate up to 50lbs. i have lower back problems and was hoping to buy a rubber belt or pack to spread out the weight. i need the 50lbs because of shallow water and cold conditions dont allow me to wear less gear to compensate. any suggestions

Trident Diving Weight Belt Suspenders used with a standard weightbelt might work.

  • shane:

i have tried suspenders for by back and they do help however that is not a long term solution. i would like to spread the weight out over my torseau better. any suggestion. i think a weight belt that is wider and has rubber padding or something similar is what i need

    Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

This belt will be padded but will only handle 30lbs. Each pocket will hold 5lbs each.

  • Robert:

the weight belts are weights included or sold seperately

    Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

    Weights are sold separately

  • Pamela:

My waist is 42 . I want to use the weight belt for my wet and dry suit. What size would be better for me?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Pamela, since you will be wearing this with both your wetsuit and drysuit I would suggest the size Large.

  • Bob:

Do you use your actual waist size to choose proper waist Size for belt or do you have to add something to it? For example I was going to order ScubaPro belt medium (36 to 42) and I have a 38 inch waist

    Aaron  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hi Bob, Since the pockets are on the outside of the weight belt and will not change the sizing of the belt. The medium would be the right size for you.

  • steve:

If I wear pants with 32" waist but wear a 7 mm suit (1/4" roughly) do I go with the small or medium. Does small (3 pockets) only accommdate 15 lbs in weight? I usually need 20 lbs in cold waters in No Cal (53 degree water).

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Steve, you would fit into either the 3 or 4 pocket belt. The pockets only hold 5lbs so if you dive with 20lbs you would need the 4 pocket version.

  • Roger:

I generally wear a size 36" pant and would like the weight belt for both dry-suit (Scubapro neoprene) and wetsuit diving. What size would be best suited for me?

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

The Medium belt would be the correct size.
