Rating: What a nice replacement for my 30 YO Suunto
Reviewer: Debra Bradford
I used the same old Suunto compass for probably 30 years, Ive had many regulator upgrades over the years but kept moving my gauges from unit to unit. Alas, my latest setup (Atomic Aquatics Titanium regulator...grrrrrrr) was STOLEN which broke my heart. My ancient compass/SPG went with it. I replaced my gear and this compass was part of that replacement. Aaaaah it is so nice. It spins so quickly, stays in place, easy to read and accurate. Probably should have bought this years ago. :)

It works. Would have given 5stars, but I would like a little more tilt capability.

Its a basic highly functional and reasonably priced compass. It fit right in the Sherwood console and remained snug. If you need a compass this will fit the bill.

Got this compass just in time for my A.O.W. class. It worked great for all my test. Even with a little tilt worked good. Not sure I could have done my navigation as well with other compass I have used. Aced the test!

Rating: Sherwood SCUBA Compass Supertilt 2
Reviewer: Maurizio S.
it is a great compass, but it has a higher profile than the compass used in the 80s. it will not totally "sink" in the boot made in the 80s it will stick out a little bit more than its predecessor.

Rating: Supertilt 2 Super accurate

Gets me back safe every time. Liquid filled so spins smooth. Quality materials used in construction and it is easy to read. So if you need a new puck compass this should be a consideration.

Rating: Good Product

I recently took a dive in a quarry up in ontario canada. Starting on one side I was able to navigate solely using this compass and came up within feet of where I was supposed to. The feet difference was because I was using a vantage point a few feet from where I was supposed to come up. Great Compass.

Questions and Answers for Sherwood Supertilt 2 Compass Module:

  • David:

Does this module fit the Genesis React Pro 2 gauge console MFG #CG3909? Im looking at buying both but the description on the console only shows a front image. Im assuming theres a spot for this compass module on the back side of the console?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello David, yes this would fit inside a genesis console.

  • Jim:

Just curious as to the dimensions of this compass module. Thanks, Jim

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Jim, it is a 2.5" diameter compass

  • Sean:

Will this compass replace the OEM compass on my Sherwood Wisdom computer?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Sean, yes this would be the replacement compass you are looking for.

  • Jeff:

What is the diameter and height of this compass "module"? Im looking for something 1"+ deep not counting the bezel and between 2"- 2 1/4" in diameter to fit in a Beauchat wrist mount. Will make up difference if small with silicone tape.

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

All of the super tilt are the same size and would be the only choice. As long as the item is not used in the water you have 60 days to refund or exchange it.

  • Katherine:

Will this compass fit on my Oceanic Veo 100 dive computer double gauge combo?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Katherine, yes the compass will fit inside that gauge combo you currently have.

  • Katherine:

Thanks for the info. on the Sherwood Supertilt 2 compass module. I was all ready to buy it but the shipping is really expensive. $17.45! At that cost I might as well buy the Oceanic compass module that goes with the Veo computer console at $52.95 from my local dive shop because the price works out the same. Is there any way to avoid that shipping cost?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

That shipping rate sounds like it is either leaving the continental 48 US states or that 3-Day shipping was selected. If purchasing within the Continental 48 US States, try moving the delivery date on the order out to 2 weeks from the date of order. That will take care of that. If outside the 48 US states, I'm afraid that's the least expensive shipping rate we offer for it.

  • Jim:

Compass question: I find that the compass included in my Mares matrix dive computer is steady and not adequate for many conditions - especially for night or low vis. I am therefore looking for a dive compass with the following features: * Fast, positive action * Relatively tilt resistant * Side and top reading * Nicely luminous at night * Big enough to be easily read * Reasonable price * Usable on a retractor or, preferably, on a slate (I would not use it on my wrist or a hose because I need to hold it further away.) QUESTION: If the combined slate/compass combinations are too expensive or don’t exist with my requirement, would it be able to glue or tie a compass module (for example the Sherwood Supertilt 2 compass Module) to a slate that I had cut a hole in? Thanks

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Jim, the compass with slate you are looking for is the: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-249/130540/Innovative-Dive-Compass-Slate.html. That will be the style compass you are looking for in your specs requirements.

  • Ken:

The photograph shows a Southern Hemisphere compass. I.e. N is 180 degrees east is 270, etc. I want a Northern hemisphere compass. Can I get it for N hemisphere?

Aaron  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hi Ken, All compass that we send out are for northern hemisphere, unless specifically marked for southern hemisphere.

  • Petemc:

How deep can I send the Sherwood 2 supertilt? (ie what is max depth rating?)

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Petemc, it has a depth rating of 200''. If you have any other questions about the specs of this unit you can contact the manufacture directly at 800.347.9766.
