Rating: Warm & Cozy in frigid temps

This is my 3rd year doing the Polar Bear plunge in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Well every year its the same my feet are freezing so I decided to purchase these dive boots. They were absolutely amazing! My feet stayed warm even after we emerged from the water.

Rating: Awesome boots for fossil hunts in the river!
Reviewer: Charles H.
I bought these boots for use while fossil hunting in Florida river beds. They keep my feet warm and keep the sand and debris out. While the soles are flexible, they provided great traction and protection from rocks and gravel on the river bed. These boots were also quite comfortable while canoeing!

Rating: Dont half size up
Reviewer: Rich H.
I normally wear a size 10.5 shoe. Bought a size 11 bootie as suggested but they are much too big. The hell curls over the back of the fin when its strapped down. Ordered a size 10 and will return the size11. Overall a very nice bootie and the knob to keep your fins in place seems like it should work well. Cant wait to try them in the water when my smaller size arrives

Rating: Dive Boots
Reviewer: William L.
These ocean dive boots are great! My husband and I each have a pair. We use them when we go gold prospecting in the creek. They keep you from getting rocks and sand in your boots and hold up really well. They are also a great price. Thanks Scuba.com Denise

Rating: Stretchy Dive Booties
Reviewer: Carol T.
Great booties. I was recently diving in open water with a very swift current that required some pretty strong kicking! The booties I had did not have a fin strap guard and the fin strap kept slipping off my heal with strong kicks. I saw this bootie with the fin strap guard and also liked the fact that it was stretchy and did not require a zipper. A bit difficult to get on but not with a dive sock! Love my new booties!

Rating: Great Ocean Quest Boots
Reviewer: stan c.
I wasnt sure if I wanted boots with a zipper thinking the zippers might malfunction and slip-on boots might be too tight and hard to pull on and off. Well Im glad I chose these slip-ons because with the amount these boots strech, they are extremely easy to put on and pull off, making a zipper totally unnecessary. Also, these boots are very comfortable. I highly recommend this product! Stan from Michigan.

Rating: Good for the money.

The 5mm. bots were pretty wear I can use them in SoCAl and in the tropics. The only bad part if you stretch your feet in the water the boat seal brakes and it can get a bit cold.

Questions and Answers for Ocean Quest 5mm Premium Super-Stretch Titanium Medium Sole Dive Boots:

  • Sara:

    I am a womens 8 1/2....should I get mens 8/womens 9 or mens 7/womens 8 in these?

Greg  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

You should order the mens 8/womens 9

  • kirk:

im a 10.5 should i go up one or down?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Better to go up a half size, because if the boot is too tight it will cause cramping in the foot.

  • Jen:

I wear womens 6-6 1/2 depending on type of shoe. 6 1/2 is usually for sneakers. Is the mens 6/womens 7 gonna be too big? I guess I can always add a sock if so.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Jen, since boots do not come in half sizes you would round up to the next full size. So I would suggest you order the size 7 womens. As long as you less then 1" from the tip of your big to to the edge of the boot you will be fine. The only thing you do not want is your toes to curl.

  • Jonathan:

Hi, I have just placed a large order (9069121) and would like to include boots with my order to be shipped together. The boots I would like are the Ocean Quest 5mm Premium Super-Stretch Titanium Medium Sole Dive Boots,Mans Size 9.Are you able to debit my card for the amount of the boots and include in my shipping please.Thank you Jonathan Lendon

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Contact info@scuba.com or call 800-347-2822 to make any changes to your order.

  • Tom:

Will these boots leave marks on the boat deck?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Tom, no they will not leave black scuff marks.

  • John:

I wear a size 15 shoe would i be able to get away with the size 14. Is there any give in these boots the last thing I want is a blister. Thank you in advance

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello John, if you are a size 15 then I would order a size 15 boot like the Neosport by Henderson 7mm Medium Sole Zipper Dive Boots web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-13/003740/Neosport-by-Henderson-7mm-Medium-Sole-Zipper-Dive-Boots.html. If you order a smaller size then needed then you run the change that your toes will curl. If that happens you might have a higher change to cramp when you are underwater. If you would like to place an order or have any other questions please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.

  • Brian:

I live in Naples FL and going to take scuba class with my grandson. I wear a 10 narrow shoe....what size do you recommend? I think I will go with the 5 mm cold water boot to get the thicker sole.

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Order according to your shoe size, if you are in between sizes go up to the next closest size. It is better to have the boot a little larger than to tight.

  • evan:

I wear a mens size 12 shoe. I recently bought the 3mm pair of these boots in a size 12, but those are way too big. Should I buy these 5mm pair in a size 11?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

The sizing runs similar in each thickness. The best we can say is the manufacturer recommends using typical sneaker-style shoe sizing for your selection.

  • Rena:

Hello, I am looking into getting some snorkeling boots and need some recommendations. Primarily to keep my feet warm, dry, and protect them from rocks in the water. Are these boots waterproof? What are the benefits of sipper vs. no sipper. What are the benefits of short vs. long ankle boot? What is the benefit of ordering socks with these boots? Are the socks waterproof? Do they keep feet extra warm? How do I care for/clean socks? Is this as easy as putting them in the washing machine? How do I care for my boots? Just let them dry in the sun? Also, I have narrow feet, size 8. Should I go with my regular shoe size? Thanks for your help.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Rena, the only boots that will keep your feet dry are boots attached to a dry suit. The Scuba Dive boots are designed to trap a thin layer of water between your feet and the boots. Then over time the heat off your feet will warm that water up and then the inside of the boots are designed to reflect that heat back to your feet.

The Ocean Quest are the Ocean Quest Premium Super-Stretch Titanium Medium Sole Dive Boots are designed to offer the best possible fit using premium, 4 way-stretch, Titanium neoprene, double glued and blind stitched inside and out for superior warmth and comfort. The Titanium material within the neoprene reflects the heat trapped in the suit back at the user more efficiently and doesn’t allow as much warmth to escape allowing the user’s body to remain warm with less effort.

The 4 way-stretch neoprene also eliminates the need for a zipper. Unlike non-zip boots from the past which were near impossible to take off or put back on when they were wet, the Premium Super Stretch Neoprene expands or contracts up to 250% more than standard, non-stretch neoprene making these boots as easy to put on or remove as the zip style counterparts. The advantage is one less item to break or go bad on your piece of gear! With a durable traction sole, and tough rubber heel and toe caps or increased durability, these boots are designed to offer years of diving or snorkeling. Available in 5mm or 7mm in sizes men’s 6 through 14 and 3mm in men’s sizes 9 through 14.
