Rating: Good piece of gear
Reviewer: Mark R., Thursday, February 19, 2009
This retractor, with a slight modification, has been a welcome addition to my standard dive gear. I have tried other retractors, but they did not have enough force to hold up my Suunto Cobra console with compass, though it is not very heavy. When I first received this retractor, however, the pull for the first inch or so of the line was not as high as the for the rest of the line, and would not hold the console without sagging. Using a Phillips screwdriver, I was able to open the clip holding the split ring and shorten the line a bit, adding the necessary tension. Now it works like a charm. Others have commented on the physical size of the device, but its not too obtrusive and its worth it to hold my console up. When diving, I hardly even notice it but for the convenience of checking my computer.

Rating: Stainless Steel Connector
Reviewer: Judy J., Monday, November 03, 2008 - View all my reviews
When I received the Max Force Retractor with Stainless Steel Carabiner Connector, I first thought I might have gone into "over-kill", I have been known to do that occasionally. But, I bought it to use with my Sunlight C8 eL.E.D. Plus Flourescent Yellow and was so thankful I had gone the extra mile. The light is heavy and anything lighter than this Conector would have simply not have been sufficient for my needs. I do not want my light dangling and getting all scuffed up.

Rating: EXCELLENT Retractor Clip
Reviewer: Heather M., Friday, August 08, 2008 - View all my reviews
THIS clip, I really liked. Nice sized connector. The plastic connectors were always difficult to remove from my BC while floating / under water (I was using different clips, connecting my camera housing and flash to the BC) It has decent resistance, good construction. The only con is that the cord had the internal material poking through after a solid week of diving.

Rating: keeps things where they belong!
Reviewer: RENE MANDRONES, Monday, July 07, 2008 - View all my reviews
Great retractor. Very strong spring keeps things in place, rather than dangling at your waist while you are out of the water. A little larger than some of the other retactors, but the extra strength is well worth the larger size. You cant have everything, but this comes close.

Very stiff pull, perfect for cameras and consoles. This has a few setup options that work great for different applications.

Rating: Large but strong retractor
Reviewer: Eric Jorgensen, Wednesday, September 05, 2007 - View all my reviews
I bought this retractor after having wasted my money on two other ones that were not capable of holding my computer off the ground while walking to the water. This one is definitely stronger than most and works well. With my Aeris ai (air integrated computer with compass module) the computer hangs with about 1/2" of line extended out from the base of the retractor. Previously the computer would hang on about 6" of line and swing around. It is strong enough to do the job but not so strong as to be an annoyance. My only complaint is that I thought it was one of the smaller retractors when looking at the picture online. It is a pretty large unit- probably about 3/4 of the size of a deck of cards. Other than the physical size I would have given this device 5 stars.

Rating: Nice hardware
Reviewer: Vincent Moore, Friday, March 23, 2007 - View all my reviews
I use this for my gauge console, it has a nice tight spring and keeps every thing pulled in nice and tight. I dont like hoses and equipment hanging down or floating around looking for some place to snagon. My son has one too, hes 10 yrs old and loves equipment and uses one for his gauges.
