this mask, How is ear equalization?
Hello Muslum, Thank you for your inquiry! Clearing the Ocean Reef Neptune Space G.divers Full Face SCUBA Dive Mask is very easy. The FFM comes with 3 sets or “Nose Plugs”, allowing you to find the proper fit to close (or seal),off your nostrils. To close off your nostrils to clear, the diver pushes up on the base of the FFM. When the plugs close off the nostrils, you then clear your ears as if you were pinching you nose using a regular mask. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-124/029944/Ocean-Reef-Neptune-Space-G.divers-Full-Face-Scuba-Dive-Mask-with-Diver-Communication-Unit.html If you have any questions or wish to place an order, please call us at 1-800-247-2822.

WIth this mask, can I breathe air with it without any air tanks?
You will need to add a surface air valve in order to breathe outside air without using the air from the tank. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-167/028195/Ocean-Reef-G.Divers-Surface-Air-Valve-SAV-for-Full-Face-Masks.html
Hi, I have extreme difficulty clearing my ears. Most times I cant dive below 10ft. I have been very frustrated with this problem ever since I have started diving. Could this mask possibly help me with my equalization problems or is there no difference?
I am now in St Thomas and it is in Ontario and I would like to know is there a diving centre in St Thomas or close to St Thomas or should I stay with the one in London Ontario and the place is Cross Current Divers does anyone know what should I do because I really want to stay within scuba diving
Can you get a quick release hose for the full face G.Divers mask?
One last question. Up till what depth can the G- diver FFM be used?
Designed for recreational so 130ft. You might want to contact the manufacturer for more specs. http://www.oceanreefgroup.com/contact_us.html
Hi! I want buy this communication unit later, what price, mftg number and model it have? As I understand it is easy to mount it to FFM? Thanks
Hi Ilja Below is a link to the full fask mask with out communications. Also, yes it is easy to install communications units later. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-124/029940/Ocean-Reef-Neptune-Space-G.divers-Full-Face-Scuba-Dive-Mask.html
Can the Ocean Reef communication system (on a diver) communicate with a on-surface ship (as well as other divers) as long as its within the 600 ft range? If so, how is this done? Through a VHF or similar device?
Hi Alyssa, Yes you can talk to divers from the surface. It requires the divers to have communication units and a surface unit. Communication is actually done though sound waves not radio transmissions. Link below is to a surface unit. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-167/029486/Ocean-Reef-M-105-Digital-Dual-Channel-Transceiver-Surface-Unit.html
what equipment do I need to comunicate with my boat during diving?
Is there a way to narrate a dive to a GoPro or Intova camera? I have both cameras, do commercial work and would like to narrate on the video I record as I work
Hello Ted, no with this set-up there would be no way to link your GoPro to your communication unit underwater. Now if you had this: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-167/031569/Ocean-Technology-Cdk-6-Surface-Accessory-Kit.html and a way to record your voice you could then edit the video with your voice in the background.
I wear glasses but can not wear contacts, how do i get a prescription lens set
Hello Andrew, you would need to buy the: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-124/028083/Ocean-Reef-Optical-Lense-Support.html this would hold the lens that you would have your eye doctor install in this frame then you would be able to install this in your Ocean Reef mask.
hi! im new to this and dont have any idea how to use/connect to the tank. Can you explain? thanks. Im planning to buy 2 for me and my partner for ease of talking underwater. Can you recommend the best? i live in the Philippines, is there a warranty? thanks!
Hello Dianne, the unit you will want to get is the version with the underwater communication so you can talk to your buddy underwater. As for attaching this to your current 1st stage it is easy. It comes with the low pressure regulator hose that will connect to the 1st and 2nd stage unit. As for the warranty it comes with the manufacture full warranty.
My wife and I are really interested in getting the Space G. w/ comms but our question is about a back-up air source. How is that set up or is it an option? How would you set it up to buddy breath if needed? We will probably be adding the SAV valve for surface work so, Im not sure if that would prohibit a secondary air source, as well? Thanks in advance!
How many different comm channels can operate in same area?
Hello Peter, if you have this comm set-up you will only get one channel: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-124/027201/Ocean-Reef-Underwater-Receiving-Unit-M-101a.html. If you have this version: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-168/027690/Ocean-Reef-GSM-Dual-Channel-Communication-Unit.html you would be able to two different channels but both will work with each other.
What specific frequency does it transmit on? Can a receiver be used and connected to an amplifier?
Hi, I was wondering if the ocean reef neptune space G can be used in cold water or only warm water? and if the surface air valve since it is low, can water come in if there is lots of waves at the surface? Thanks!
I just purchased a Neptune Space mask without a 1st stage...The manual that comes with the mask shows a certain type of 1st stage showing it as the only type that can be used. Is this true or can I just use my current 1st stage I already own?
1. Explain what "Easily adaptable for a octopus regulator" in the add means. 2. Are prescription lens (bi-focal) available? If so, how are they ordered and at what cost?
I cant figure out if this comes with the surface air valve. It isnt listed in the item description but in the more about the product tab is states as follows. "The Neptune Space is equipped with a surface air valve that allows the diver to breathe ambient air while at the surface." So is the ambient air valve an extra cost item or is the mask "equipped" as it says in the product info? Also is the hose that connects the mask (second stage) to the tank regulator a quick connect and if not, is this available as an option?
The OCEAN REEF Neptune Series provides a revolutionary take on the full face mask. They offer great visual fields, superior comfort, reliability, exceptional safety, durability, and they are easy to use! Whether you are a recreational, professional, or commercial diver, or just getting started in SCUBA, the OCEAN REEF Neptune Space series has a mask for you!
The Neptune Space G.divers with GSM G.divers Communication Unit includes everything you need to dive and speak with your buddy underwater.
Neptune Space G.divers Integrated Dive Mask (OR02501X):
The Neptune Space G.divers mask is available in two sizes and four colors (white, emerald, cobalt and pink) and includes an integrated, balanced 2nd stage regulator with a low-pressure hose. Designed for recreational diving, guiding and teaching, this high performance mask is ideal for both those looking to try full face mask diving for the first time as well as experienced divers looking for an exceptional value.
Ocean Reef’s pneumatically balanced, integrated second stage regulator provides consistent ease of breath at any tank pressure. The inhalation adjustment knob allows divers to control their air delivery. The Neptune Space G.divers mask can also be equipped with an optional Surface Air Valve (SAV) that will allow divers to breathe ambient air while at the surface.
The patented bellows style face skirts, molded from premium grade silicone rubber, uses a ‘spring profile’ and large sealing surface to achieve a very comfortable fit and ample support. This spring effect is a combination of the double “S” section and the inner support ribs which allows the G.divers mask to ‘float’ comfortably on the face. The head strap is directly attached to the face shield, allowing pressure to be distributed equally along the mask skirt. The six straps of the head harness hold the mask in a firm position due to their low elasticity. The tip of each rubber strap is wide, making them easy to grasp while wearing gloves. The fast rotating buckle allows the mask to be donned and removed quickly, simply pull the quick release tabs on the bottom of the mask to remove. The unique face seal and strap concepts are Ocean Reef patents.
The streamlined visor, made of transparent polycarbonate and treated with a scratch resistant resin, is designed to be wider and sit closer to the face than previous full face masks, maximizing the visual field, especially in the peripheral area. The visible light transfer of the visor is 92%. These factors give divers and astonishingly clear view of the underwater world.
The Neptune Space G.divers air circulation system is one of a kind and is designed to eliminate fogging and reduce the amount of CO and CO2 buildup. The silicone orinasal pocket is built with two one-way valves through which air is inhaled. Exhaled air is directed through a valve under the orinasal pocket and out of the mask. This limits the mixing of used air with the fresh air coming in from the regulator.
Water that may seep into the mask is quickly eliminated through exhalation or pushing the purge valve button in the second stage. Mask squeeze cannot occur with the G.divers mask because the pressure inside the mask is always being equalized to the pressure outside.
Ear equalization is a breeze with the Neptune Space G.divers patented 3-D equalization system. The system consists of a moveable plate and 2 eccentric blocks, which may be moved up or down and in or out to adapt to a variety of nose shapes. Included are three pairs of extensions, allowing the distance between the blocks and the nose to be modified. Simply adjust the silicone blocks to sit right under the nose, then push back on the mask to block the nostrils on descent and equalize the ears.
The Ocean Reef G.divers mask can be outfitted with a variety of optional accessories. The Surface Air Valve (OR025020) saves tank air while at the surface. An optical lens support (33299) allows for vision correction. Visor lights (OR024502) can provide hands free illumination. An Extraflex Quick Connect hose (OR024998) allows you to easily remove the mask from the 1st stage regulator set up, and a swivel (33033) can provide freer movement. An octopus adaptor (33020/33021) can connect a conventional 2nd stage to the mask (in addition to the built in regulator). Also available is a high performance 1st stage with a balance diaphragm and anti-freeze kit (YOKE 9922/DIN 9923).
GSM G.divers Underwater Communication Unit (OR033109):
Underwater communication can make diving safer and more fun with the ability to talk back and forth with your buddy!
The GSM G.divers Unit is a wireless underwater communication system, allowing the diver to both talk and receive. The GSM unit is installed in the communication port, located on the left side of the mask.
The GSM G.divers allows a diver to communicate with others verbally, making diving more enjoyable and safer. Working through ultrasonic waves, the unit boasts the autonomy of approximately 30 hours in receiving mode, a range of operations of approximately 200 meters/600 feet, and a lightweight and sleek design. It is a powerful, single channel PTT (push to talk) underwater wireless communication unit.
The unit automatically activates upon contact with the water and uses a 9V alkaline battery. The battery is simple to install, and a ‘low battery’ alarm will beep every 30 seconds when battery is low.
The GSM G.divers uses a D-mic, a special microphone with the housing sealed in a hydrophobic membrane that is permeable to air, but prevents water from passing through to the electronics. The membrane’s reduced thickness limits any reduction of the vocal signal. The permeability of the membrane keeps the internal pressure equalized with the external pressure, enabling the microphone to be used at practically any depth.
Each GSM G.divers comes with the NACS (Neptune Adjustable Communication Support Code: 33054). The patented NACS is an adjustable support arm for the GSM G.divers and other Ocean Reef underwater communication units. It can be installed on the left side of the mask and positions the communication unit comfortably by the ear without having it hanging from the mask strap. By relieving the weight of the communication unit, the NACS also allows the mask strap to slide easily through the buckle; thus the strap can stay loose while the mask is donned and the GSM stays out of the way. The NACS can be adjusted for tilt and distance between the communication unit and the visor.
The GSM G.divers communication unit is the perfect addition to your Ocean Reef Mask, increasing diver safety and fun. It can also be a great tool for instructors and divemasters, improving instruction and guided dives. The GSM G.divers Unit can be used with any Ocean Reef Integrated Dive Mask.
