Rating: Excellent book for recreational divers, new or experienced

This is the third edition of PADIs Recreational diving encyclopedia. It is thorough, comprehensive and a great resource to review when questions come up about rec diving.
I found this book to be a "must have" for anyone who dives and wants to share the sport with others. It is well written, the photos are current and the data is of the latest information for todays diver.

A great book that will bring you back to the basics of diving and then take you deeper into protocols of diving. This should be an absolute read for anyone who really wants to have a deeper understanding of the recreational diver and all of the basic skills we learned in our open water, when we went on to advanced open water and then decided that we want to become a rescue diver.

Rating: Great information!

PADIs Encyclopedia is a great book! Im both PADI and NAUI certified, currently getting my Divemaster certification through NAUI and even my NAUI instructor recommended I get this book because its so thorough. Reading it from cover to cover not only helped reinforce information Id learned for my Master Scuba Diver course but it explained certain things (ingassing, for one) better than my textbook did. Now that Im going to be working in the dive shop as well, its helped as a quick reference with certain questions customers have come in with. This new version is an easy read with great pictures, drawings and colors for those easily bored by pages of nothing but text. I think its an invaluable resource.

This is a good book with a general overview of the ocean, equipement, and what happens to a diver.
