This is so much better than when people tap their tanks with their metal pointers. When that happens, everyone is confused, because at any given time, there may be other dive groups. So the tapping all sound the same. This rattle stick, however, produces a unique sound. Above water, it sounds like the Salvation Army bell. Under water, it omits an audible but not-in-your-face ring. Its small and made with durable metal. Easily attaches to anything.

Other than I sound like the Salvation Army bell ringer at Christmas time, as I walk accross the boat. I am very impressed and happy with this item. It does sound like the bell from the red pots at the salvation army ringers above water. It make a very good audable sound that can be heard and noticed under water. Would recomend this item.

Bought to replace one that I lost. Works great, gets my wifes attention everytime. Weve used some others like tank bangers and rattles, but she never seemed to hear them. This one gets everybodies attention!

My husband could never hear tank-tappin for attention - he said all he hears are bubbles! I got this rattle stick hoping hed be able to hear it and he DOES! Plus its not hard for me to use it where as the tank banging was ackward for me whether with a bungee ball or other instrument. I love my little rattle stick!

We have used allot of different in water sound devices and the XS Scuba Rattle Stick has a distinct sound unlike any other. We operate a dive boat for the military here on Okinawa Japan and use the rattle sticks for all customers and as a means of gaining attention between one another. The Rattle Stick works great, simple to use and works well even with the engines running above. The sound is sufficient to even use as a recall device... Great Product...

could barely hear the rattle underwater so dont waste your money also, if you hook it on to your bc, it rattles all the time and if you keep it in your bc pocket, inaccessible.
