Rating: Very easy to use

I took this product to Cozumel for drift diving. Since it was common to come up in an area with other boats, all you had to do was to pull out the safety sausage and blow it up manually while you waited for your own boat. Deflating it and rolling it back up was also easy and it fits easily back into the small carrying bag which hooks inconspicuously to your BC. For the price, this product gets a "5".

lucky me, didnt got a chance to use it yet, but its comfort to know its there on my bcd. have tested it and it really catches peoples attention...no one should go diving, expecially commercial dives without one...

Rating: Safety Sausage Issues

I recently purchased the safety sausage with the intention to deploy under the surface to signal boats that I was coming up rather than carrying my dive flag on this particular lake I dive. I find that the mouthpiece is difficult to pull out with gloves on. Also, the carrying bag is a bit too small for my liking in regards to "putting it all back together again". It may be more appropriate to deploy in a warm water environment at the surface with no gloves.

This sausage is well made and designed. I tested it on my last trip to Costa Rica and it was easy to deploy and very visible. There are longer ones out there, but for me this, along with a whistle and strobe, is just fine.

I love the Akona safety sausage. I dive alot on lakes with sometimes heavy boat traffic to signal when Im surfacing. It gives me a much improved sense of safety when I cant always tow a flag due to all the trees tangling the rope. It works great attached to a cheap campers clothsline reel to reel the line in while surfacing to eliminate tangling. Its also very compact, visible and easy to inflate.

If you dont have a safety sausage, this is a nice small compact addition to store in a BCD pocket or snap on. Bad feature is that it can only be manually inflated by mouth, limited use underwater.

Rating: Small sausage

A bit smaller than most but I think that is a plus. Quick and easy to get out and small enough that I take it on all dives. My wife has not deployed her large one since we got this small one.

Compact and seems to be constructed well, just what was needed to give us the added visibility when you come up to fer from the boat.
