What ideations surface and underwater air horn would work for a Aqualung lung Lotus i3 and the men s version of same? The inflator hose goes into the hard pocket on the side and is a flexible hose.
I just ordered (yesterday) the Dive Alert Plus V2 type 1 as a gift for a friend. I thought she had a regular bcd but apparently she has a side inflate BCD. Would that model still works for her? Or I need the type 2 or 3? If so is it too late to change my order? Thank you Patricia
Hello Patricia, Thank you for your inquiry! It’s not the style of BCD that determines the Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 Dive Alert Plus V2, it is the actual inflator unit. It comes in 3 BC styles: Standard Type I - Compatible with 85% of all power inflators except if fitted with the a breathable type inflator Type II - Compatible with Aeris Air Link, Oceanic Air XS, Mares AirControl, Zeagle Octo+, Aqualung Air Mic, Seaquest Air Source, Apeks Octo+ or Beuchat Venturi Type III - Compatible Sherwood Gemini, Tusa Duo-Air, DiveRite RiteSource, H2Odyssea Inflator plus, Atomic SS1 or Scuba Pro Air II, Zeagle Octo-Z Breathable Inflator http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-117/004602/Ideations-Dive-Alert-Plus-V.2.html If you would like to place an order, please contact one of our certified Dive Instructors at SCUBA.com by calling 800-247-2822 <> 949-221-9300 or e-mail us at: email@example.com
Hi My BCD is CRESSI travellight, and OCTO is Mares Prestige Octopus Is the divealert plus V2 compatible with them?
Hello Jie, Thank you for your inquiry! You will use the Dive Alert Plus V.2 Type 1 - Compatible with 85% of all power inflators, such as the Cressi Travellight BCD http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-117/004602/Ideations-Dive-Alert-Plus-V.2.html If you would like to place an order or have questions about our products, please contact one of our certified Dive Instructors at SCUBA.com by calling 800-247-2822 <> 949-221-9300 or e-mail us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
I went to Dive Alerts website as well as yours, and it does not list my power inflator, so I dont know which of the 2 (I know the "regular" alert wont work) to buy. I have the aqualung Airsource 3 QD. The closest I read was Div Alert 2 for the Mares Airsource. Pleas advise so I can buy! Thanks!
Type 2 should fit if your Air Source has a quick disconnect. http://www.scuba.com/shop/product_display.asp?SKUCode=004603&Action=Search
I have a need to switch between standard inflator (at home in cold water with my Zeagle Ranger) and either an SS1/Air2 inflator (while travelling with my Scubapro/Air2 or Seaquest/SS1 BCD). Id prefer not to buy 3 units as Id only ever be using two at the same time (wife has an SS1 and I use an Air2 while travelling). Is there an adapter kit or standardized part I could get to buy two DiveAlert Plus v2 (standard Type I Im guessing, then with an adapter for the Type III)?
Hello Dave, you would need to get this item to fit your standard power inflator to make it work with your alt octo/power inflator. Trident Air Hose Adapter web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-37/034046/Trident-Air-Hose-Adapter.html. Or if your Zeagle has the garden hose adaptor like your SS1 octo's. Then you could get the SS1 to fit your Zeagle and then you can use your power inflator for all of your BCD's. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.
Which model will fit a cressi aquapro bc?

Please tell me which version of Dive Alert Plus I need for my Scuba Pro Knighthawk BCD - I do NOT have the Air2 second stage, just the standard inflator buttons. And, if it turns out that you give me the wrong answer, can I return the unit for a full refund??
I have a Halcyon Eclipse BC, which type should I use? the connector of the hose looks like type II.
Hello Hans, do you have just a standard power inflator then you will need the type 1. If you have an alt air source then you want to order the type that fits it. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.
Hi~~ I had a Mares Hybrid MRS+ BCD for Men,can i using Ideations Surface & Underwater Air Horn Dive Alert Plus V.2?? Which type should i using?? And how much to shipping to Taiwan and can i pay it bu paypal?? Thanks!!
Will this work on the Seaquest i3 type power inflater that is on the Seaquest ladies Pearl and on the Pro QD. The inflater is a toggle integrated into the lower left side of the BC.
I really want the Dive Alert air horn as part of my dive gear for all the obvious safety reasons, but I own the Aqualung Dimension i3 back inflation BCD which wont allow me to connect the air horn to the hp inflator hose that leads to the i3 console. Is it possible to safely rig the air horn to my kit another way, Perhaps on the hp hose leading to my back up computer gage console? I use the Suunto EON Steel dive computer on my wrist as my primary dive computer. Or is there another way to install it? Thank you for any tips.
I have a sherwood brute octo and sherwood avid bc, my wife has a sherwwod avid CQR.3 bc and a sherwwod brute octo. Can you tell me what type dive alert plus v.2 airhorn we would need.
Hi, I have the Aeris Airlink alternate air source it looks like I need type II. Will it add a lot of bulk to the device or make it difficult to operate the powere inflator? Thanks! Drew
What does this sound like? Ive heard it makes a buzzing sound and others have said it sounds like a sick duck. One of buddies has one that sounds like a duck. I want one that has a different sound so we can be distinguished from one another. Does the Scub Alert have a different sound? thank you
Hi I have oxycheq Back Inflation BC,I need to choose which,The following address is now being used. Thanks! http://www.oxycheq.com/power-inflator-valve-k-type.html
Two questions: I use an Aqualung Air Source (Neither unit nor literature specifies I, II or III). Which Ideations Surface & Underwater Air Horn Diver Alert Pus will be compatible with my Air Source? Also is this Ideations model the same or similar to the Aquatec Scub-Alert quacker? What type of noise does it make under the water?
Hello. I would like to use the stuff added to an extra hose. Dive Alert/ Lifeline USA Product Manager, told me that´s a correct way to use the DA: "you can even remove the female coupling on the DiveAlert and replace it with a standard 3/8 24 port plug". Please let me know if you have there to sell such element. (I can´t identify it as a standard accessory)Thanks. Leo.
"pam: What ideations surface and underwater air horn would work for a Aqualung lung Lotus i3 and the men s version of same? The inflator hose goes into the hard pocket on the side and is a flexible hose. Arthur (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com): Hello, unfortunately the dive alerts arent compatible with the i3s" ___________________________________________________ They are compatible with the i3s from Aqua Lung, IF you use Aqua Lung Airsource 3. I have used the older verision of the Dive Alert and my wife has used the new one for years now on our Aqua Lung SeaQuest Axiom i3 BC with the Airsource 3.
DiveAlertPLUS is a specially designed, small, light weight pneumatic signaling device that uses quick-connect/disconnect hose couplings to become an integrated part of your power inflator. Installation is easy and takes only a moment.
DiveAlertPLUS uses a small amount of air from your SCUBA tank to make a piercingly loud sound in air or water. People have been able to hear a DiveAlertPLUS one mile away from a diver in need above water. In conditions where visibility is limited, a DiveAlertPLUS can be a life saver. Underwater you can sound for attention quickly with a squeeze of the device.
After each use, DiveAlertPLUS should be rinsed with fresh water. This is especially important after use in chlorinated swimming pools and in other water having corrosive substances. Additionally, it is highly recommended that you blow the water out of DiveAlertPLUS before storing. This can be done by pressurizing and activating both the surface and subsurface signaling elements. We recommend that you cup your hand over the surface signaling element to muffle the loud noise.
NO MODS REQUIRED
DiveAlertPLUS does not require any modification to your equipment, and it does not interfere with the normal operation of your equipment. The DiveAlertPLUS comes in three different models to accommodate different connectors: DV1, DV2, and DV3.
EASY TO USE DESIGN
Once the tank is turned on and the DiveAlertPLUS connected, squeeze the DiveAlertPLUS softly underwater for a subsurface signal. Or squeeze it firmly on the surface for a loud surface signal blast. Check that DiveAlertPLUS is installed correctly and functioning properly before every dive. Also be careful not to point DiveAlertPLUS toward yourself or toward anyone who is in close proximity to you when you activate the surface signal (it’s really loud!).
HOW IT WORKS
The DiveAlertPLUS uses chrome-plated brass couplings to attach to your power inflator. Squeezing the device engages the actuator valve stem causing a small amount of air to flutter a stainless steel diaphragm, emitting a piercingly loud sound from the injection-molded thermoplastic body. The subsurface / underwater signal is produced by a percussion 'buzzing' noise made by a piston hitting a stainless steel diaphragm much like a drum.

Injection-molded Thermoplastic Diaphragms:
"Recently we purchased the Dive Alert Plus signaling devices to take on a 1 week dive excursion on the Kona Aggressor Yacht (live aboard) in Kona Hawaii – 14 of our buddies from our local dive shop set out for a day of diving at the Ampitheatre Lava Tube cave sight…during the dive, I was sucked up through a skylight in the lava tube and sent soaring through 30 feet of surging ocean water where the force of the suction caused me to lose my mask and fin, and pulled my regulator out of my mouth…once reaching the surface, I quickly inflated my BC, found my regulator and went straight for my new Diver Alert Plus – The Kona Aggressor was approximately 200 yards away from me. I was near the cliffs where the surf was loud and strong and I was signaling my device non-stop so that hopefully someone on the boat would hear me. The captain and crew of the boat heard me from inside the wheel house and located me because of the Dive Alert Plus! My dive buddy and another diver friend surfaced about the same time and saw me nearby. The crew quickly lowered the dingy and rescued me. We have been diving for several years and had never had such a device – now I am recommending to everyone I know who dives not to go into the water without one!"- Deanna G.
When not being heard is NOT an option.
The current version of the Dive Alert from Ideations improves upon the original product that divers around the world have come to recognize. The original version is a small, light weight air horn that emits a tremendously piercing sound that can be heard above the water as far away as a mile (1.6km). Attaching between the power inflator or inflatable octo on the bcd and the low pressure inflator hose the unit uses a small amount of air from the diver’s cylinder to allow a diver on the surface in all visibility conditions to signal his partner or a boat.
The Dive Alert Plus v.2 is more than a simply redesigned version of the old original. While the Dive Alert Plus v.2 offers a new and redesigned, more streamline look, the difference goes much deeper. The newly updated design on the case not only makes the unit more appealing but it’s also more ergonomically efficient to grasp and operate. The older unit requires the user to push the button straight inward around the “guards” situated around the button that are designed to prevent accidental operation of the horn. This design can prove problematic when used with thicker gloves in cold water conditions. The streamlined design of the Dive Alert Plus v.2 lets the user grasp the unit and wrap their hands/fingers around the horn for a secure grip while depressing the button to activate the signaling device.
While the Dive Alert has always been one of the most successful surface signaling devices available to divers the most significant improvement comes underneath the surface of the water. By depressing the button softly underwater the Dive Alert Plus v.2 creates a loud buzzing noise caused by a small piston vibrating against a stainless steel diaphragm similar in thought to a drum. This buzzing noise can help locate a lost buddy or get the attention of other divers in the area when needed.
With its design placing it between the low pressure inflator hose and the bcd’s inflator or inflatable octo, the Dive Alert Plus v.2 sits inline along the corrugated hose on the bcd and out of the way of snagging or the normal operation of the divers equipment. It comes in 3 different models to allow it to incorporate into any model of inflator connection.
