On my last dive i had to surface early and left the group and buddy. No boat on site and waited for 5mins and tried to active few times, i dont have SMB around so i have to depend on this device, around 2mins more and saw the boat circling the bay, pressed few times again and the boat caught my attention.
Must have for all divers, perfect combo with SMB too.
Obviously i highly recommend this product !

I bought this after I took a Rescue class. After installing and testing it I cant imagine it being heard from very far on the surface. Under water is sounds like a sick duck. IAs you can tell I am not very impressed.

I found the horn to be very good on the surface but could be louder under water. Just make sure you share the alert sound with your buddy while your under water so they can listen for the sound and be alerted.

You can use this version above or under water. You can use this either to make a piercingly loud sound (warn others) or a moderate gurgling sound for people who are relatively close. Its the real deal. Their is a self locking mechanism that keeps it from blaring unnecessarily.

Easy to integrate, just utilize a shorter LP hose spanning from 1st stage to BC. Nice to have this on deeper dives, when vis is bad and when any kind of penetration dive is done. Couldnt be easier to use

Questions and Answers for Ideations Surface & Underwater Air Horn Dive Alert Plus V.2:
Patricia:
I just ordered (yesterday) the Dive Alert Plus V2 type 1 as a gift for a friend. I thought she had a regular bcd but apparently she has a side inflate BCD. Would that model still works for her? Or I need the type 2 or 3?
If so is it too late to change my order?
Thank you
Patricia

Hello Patricia, Thank you for your inquiry! It’s not the style of BCD that determines the Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 Dive Alert Plus V2, it is the actual inflator unit. Hello Jie, Thank you for your inquiry! You will use the Dive Alert Plus V.2 Type 1 - Compatible with 85% of all power inflators, such as the Cressi Travellight BCD http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-117/004602/Ideations-Dive-Alert-Plus-V.2.html If you would like to place an order or have questions about our products, please contact one of our certified Dive Instructors at SCUBA.com by calling 800-247-2822 <> 949-221-9300 or e-mail us at: info@scuba.com
john:
I went to Dive Alerts website as well as yours, and it does not list my power inflator, so I dont know which of the 2 (I know the "regular" alert wont work) to buy.
I have the aqualung Airsource 3 QD.
The closest I read was Div Alert 2 for the Mares Airsource.
Pleas advise so I can buy!
Thanks!
I have a need to switch between standard inflator (at home in cold water with my Zeagle Ranger) and either an SS1/Air2 inflator (while travelling with my Scubapro/Air2 or Seaquest/SS1 BCD). Id prefer not to buy 3 units as Id only ever be using two at the same time (wife has an SS1 and I use an Air2 while travelling).
Is there an adapter kit or standardized part I could get to buy two DiveAlert Plus v2 (standard Type I Im guessing, then with an adapter for the Type III)?
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Dave, you would need to get this item to fit your standard power inflator to make it work with your alt octo/power inflator. Trident Air Hose Adapter web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-37/034046/Trident-Air-Hose-Adapter.html. Or if your Zeagle has the garden hose adaptor like your SS1 octo's. Then you could get the SS1 to fit your Zeagle and then you can use your power inflator for all of your BCD's. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.

Please tell me which version of Dive Alert Plus I need for my Scuba Pro Knighthawk BCD - I do NOT have the Air2 second stage, just the standard inflator buttons. And, if it turns out that you give me the wrong answer, can I return the unit for a full refund??

For the standard BCD inflator, use the Dive Alert Plus - type I. This is the one for about 85% of all BCDs. You can always return unused products for a full refund within the first 60 days, for any reason

As long as the inflator is NOT a breathable integrated inflator it should take the standard inflator style. Type 1

Since the Dive Alert connects above the quick disconnect on Airlink, it will not effect how you operate the Airlink. In regards to the size it's easy to operate with and without gloves.
Ideations Dive Alert Plus v.2
When not being heard is NOT an option.
The current version of the Dive Alert from Ideations improves upon the original product that divers around the world have come to recognize. The original version is a small, light weight air horn that emits a tremendously piercing sound that can be heard above the water as far away as a mile (1.6km). Attaching between the power inflator or inflatable octo on the bcd and the low pressure inflator hose the unit uses a small amount of air from the diver’s cylinder to allow a diver on the surface in all visibility conditions to signal his partner or a boat.
The Dive Alert Plus v.2 is more than a simply redesigned version of the old original. While the Dive Alert Plus v.2 offers a new and redesigned, more streamline look, the difference goes much deeper. The newly updated design on the case not only makes the unit more appealing but it’s also more ergonomically efficient to grasp and operate. The older unit requires the user to push the button straight inward around the “guards” situated around the button that are designed to prevent accidental operation of the horn. This design can prove problematic when used with thicker gloves in cold water conditions. The streamlined design of the Dive Alert Plus v.2 lets the user grasp the unit and wrap their hands/fingers around the horn for a secure grip while depressing the button to activate the signaling device.
While the Dive Alert has always been one of the most successful surface signaling devices available to divers the most significant improvement comes underneath the surface of the water. By depressing the button softly underwater the Dive Alert Plus v.2 creates a loud buzzing noise caused by a small piston vibrating against a stainless steel diaphragm similar in thought to a drum. This buzzing noise can help locate a lost buddy or get the attention of other divers in the area when needed.
With its design placing it between the low pressure inflator hose and the bcd’s inflator or inflatable octo, the Dive Alert Plus v.2 sits inline along the corrugated hose on the bcd and out of the way of snagging or the normal operation of the divers equipment. It comes in 3 different models to allow it to incorporate into any model of inflator connection.
