Rating: Spring Fin Straps for Twin Jets: A Must for Rough Shore Entries

My girlfriend and I are new to diving and love Monterey. The surf has been rough lately and shore entries a bit dicy. We are satisfied with our Scubapro Twin Jets, but the extended footplate makes it difficult to slip the straps over our boots. We started out entering with our fins on which was difficult and tiring. We tried putting our fins on in the water, but that was difficult for me and imposible for her. We even considered changing fin styles. I noticed another diver with spring straps so I ordered a pair. What makes Innovatives so nice is the large ring on the back of the spring which makes it easy to use. I recommend matching the size to your fin not the boot if your boot is smaller. A tight spring requires strength. Last weekend we strapped our fins to our BCs walked right past a struggling certification class, easily put our fins on in the water and had lots of energy for the rest of the dive.

The Innovative straps seem well-made. I prefer the Scuba Pro straps for my Jets though. The rubber on the Innovative straps seem bulky to me and make donning the fins a bit more difficult than the cloth covered Scuba Pro straps, which seem to slip on and off like butter. Getting the correct size was difficult. I used the measuring method recommended by Innovative and ended up with a too small, small size, for my size 9 feet. I ended up paying return and delivery shipping to receive a medium. The mediums are still a bit tight but Im not willing to pay for return shipping again to move up to large. This is one draw-back for shopping online. Other than size, and the other small issues, they seem like they will last a long time.

MY husband has been a diver since the early 80s. He loved diving. As he aged, so did his knees. Diving was set aside because he could not get his equipment on. We helped him, but he was not thrilled about that. Well, our son and I had ordered these Fin Straps from Scubapro and loved them...So, we ordered these straps for him and went for a dive. OH MY Gosh, it totally changed his attitude! It was so easy for him to get them on and off! Now, when we plan to dive, he does not back out. Thank You Scubapro for giving my number one dive buddy his passion for diving back again. Its wonderful to have him with us in the water!

I purchased a set for myself and a pair for my wife on recommendation of a friend before a trip to Cozumel. The first day took a little getting used to but after that it was heaven. Easy on and off in the boat and in the water. The tension was perfect without adjustment, even though there is a little adjustment available. The first day out I didnt realized that my previous straps were way too tight, so I felt as if these would fall off. Not so. They keep the fins on and you dont even feel them. Extremely easy to get off in the water and hand out, which is very nice in currents. Wonderful and highly recommended.

the concept is great not fumbling around trying to snap off the fins to get them off, and just pulling on the back strap to release your foot. but, more than once, it was hard to work with, and easier to just unsnap it. it is easier to put on though when its snapped together, and youre trying to put the fin on with a tank on. but overall, its bulkier and makes the fins a little heavier to carry around. so, theres definite pros and cons to this strap. may switch back to original straps and keep these as back ups.

I recently purchased these as an alternative to the standard fin straps which came on my split fins. I absolutely love them. They easily slide on over my boot and you have no concerns about proper adjustment. They are a nice alternative to the straight spring fin straps that are considerably more costly. i thought this would be a great solution to broken fin straps but, though the straps are good, i wish i had my old ones. i wish i could fine-tune the tension. since they are springs they are self-adjusting. they are quite heavy thought they dont make my fins sink thank goodness. im not to fond of the look. still, they seem well-made and will probably last a long time.

Really handy that the clips on these fit the twin jets without playing about with the original manufacture clips as some spring sets require. Fouls slightly on the heel of the fin, hopefully they will loosen a bit in time.

Nearly all my dives are shore dives in Monterey. So being able to slip on/off my fins while standing in the surf is a big plus. I will probably have to get one size up if I ever move to a drysuit.

Great fin straps. Ive used them on 6 dives, no complaints. No more straps getting caught in kelp. Easy to put on and off. One recommendation is to get one size smaller than you would think.

I wish I had bought these a long time ago! My straps that came with my fins were so hard to get off! These slip on and off easy even in the surf. They are comfortable and dont slip at all.
