These boots are so much better than my zippered top boots. These boots have no zippers to creep down while you are diving. They feel very secure and the added padding on the sole is a plus for walking over rocks. I would recommend these boots to everyone.

These boots are awesome! Get one size smaller than what you normally wear because they run a little large. The sole on these are like tennis shoes and I dont only wear them to dive, they are great for walking on the beach and rocks I highly recommend these boots even if you dont plan on wearing them with fins.

These are terrific boots. I primarily use them for kayaking and believe it or not, slippers. Very comfortable and warm. Purchasing a second pair ASAP.

Rating: Akona Dive Boots - Size
Reviewer: JOHN W.
The dive boots function well except that size 9 appears to be big enough to fit a size 10. Also, I had difficulty in getting them out of my fins when exiting the water. Recommending ordering at least 1/2 size smaller...or trying on prior to purchase.

Questions and Answers for Akona 3.5mm Deluxe Heavy Duty Molded Sole Low Top Dive Boots:

  • Jeffrey:

My tennis shoe size is 10-2E. In your experience is this brand generous in width?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Jeffery, yes it is but I would suggest going up a size in the boot for the extra width. If you would like to place an order or have any other questions please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.

  • Allan:

What is the difference between the Akona AKBT638 and the Akona AKBT631. They are both 3.5 mm heavy duty deluxe molded low sole? Thanks

Greg  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

The AKBT638 is being discontinued. The 2012 version of the boot is AKBT631. There is a slight difference in the tread design.

  • Jim:

Of the 3mm low top hardsole boots you carry, which fits wide feet best?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Jim, none of the scuba boots are designed for wide feet. You just have to go up to the next size. If you have any other questions please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.

  • Peter:

I wear a size 10 regular width, the comments indicate I should order a size 9. Is that accurate?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Peter. if you wear a size 10 tennis shoe I would suggest you getting the size 10.

  • Cathy:

Im looking for a really good, durable boot for snorkeling and beach walks. I prefer something that breathes, perhaps with mesh, protects heel against fin abrasion, and is easy to get on and off. Suggestions please? Thanks.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Cathy, here is the boot that I would suggest for you with what you are looking for in a boot: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-112/002689/Camaro-3mm-Aqua-Slippers.html.
