Any experience using an aqua lock wetsuit and dealing with the need to urinate during a dive? Less water flow, so does urine just stay in the suit? Rough topic, but reality with diving...
Hi Lori There are divers who have urinated in their wetsuit or those who have lied about it. All joking aside any wetsuit with semidry seals will always retain more of your urine. Just remember to wash thoroughly after wards. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-5/030124/500psi-Wetsuit---BC-Wash---Shampoo-with-Conditioner-Cleaner.html
Hello, I have started sailing a Hobie wave catamaran. I live on a small lake and right now I go sailing in just a bathing suit however I will want to sail in the cooler fall and early spring weather and I am looking for a wet suit for that reason. So my question is what should I look for? A temperate water or cold water wet suit? I am thinking a full body wet suit would be appropriate. I am looking for something that will allow me to use every sailable day no matter how cold as long as the water is not frozen. Could you make a recommendation. Please be as specific as you can. Note. I am not just talking about being warm on the boat, but in the event of capsizing which by the way I did today for the first time. In 90 degree weather it was fun but in colder weather I am sure I will need some kind of protection. Thanks
I have not had a wet suit in 40 + years. I am a body wramper or body surfer for those who dont know. The last suit I had cause to many rashes in the under arm area to wear for a long time and short shelve suits were no good for cold water. Are their any suits for me out their? and what is the price range.
I wear a size 16, female. Just want something for swimming in a super cold (doesnt heat well) indoor pool. Otherwise, Ill never exercise. Are there any suits that go up to that size?
Hello Rudy, the suit I would suggest for you is the Pinnacle 7mm Siren Merino Elastiprene Super-Stretch Wetsuit web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-101/152121/Pinnacle-7mm-Siren-Merino-Elastiprene-Super-Stretch-Wetsuit.html. Which goes up to a size 18
I am an Advanced Open Water Diver about to go for my "Ice Dive Certification". My question to you is I have the 6.5MM Mares Trilastic Semi dry suit but my concern is that this suit will not be warm enough for the certification dives. 2 dives day 1 and 1 dive day 2 of my certification. I plan on investing in a dry suit in the future but dont have the money right now. Will I be ok in this suit for 2 days of diving ? Thanks.
Majority of my diving will be done on the north coast of California, from Monterey to Salt Point. Trying to decide if I would need to purchase the hooded vest with the 7mm Aqua Lock or if the stand alone hood and suit would be fine for average temps here (50-60 degrees). If not, also considering the ScubaPro Nova Scotia. Thanks for your help!
Im going to Tonga to swim and dive with Humpbacks, dive operation recommends 7mm suit Im looking for a suit that will keep me warm and as easy to put on and take off as possible.
Hello, I recently became certified, and was embarrassed that I had to wear a mens 3xl wetsuit, simply because it seems the womens suits were IMPOSSIBLE to get on! I have the aqua lock hood, and it slides effortlessly on my head, I love that, does this wetsuit provide the same ease? And I would say Im a 16/18 in womens jeans, with uhmm, a large bust to match... So would a mens suit suit me better? Or would the fit of a mens suit not fit right with a womens body? I would really like my own gear, and if this is as comfortable and easy to put on as the hood, Im sold.
The Aqua Lock suit will offer the same flexibility and stretch as the hood does, which will make it a great deal easier to get off and on than a traditional neoprene suit. The super-stretch neoprene used in this suit stretches up to 250% more than standard neoprene. In the over all scheme of things, suits made specifically for women, with a cut for women haven''t been around all that long. It wasn''t that many years ago that mens suits were the only patterns available. The way I like to put it to customers and students is "if it fits, wear it". The most important measurements any time you purchase a wetsuit using the manufacturer''s sizing charts will always be your waist and chest/bust measurements. The suit needs to fit your torso correctly in order to do its job properly. Keep in mind there is no such thing as a comfortable wetsuit on the surface. You want it to be snug, but not cut off circulation to your extremities. The more snug it is, the thinner the layer of water your body is heating. If its too loose you will remain warm for awhile, but eventually your body won''t be able to keep up with the greater amount of water flowing through the suit and you''ll wind up getting cold faster. After that your height is a secondary measurement. The manufacturers realize that generally speaking your boots and gloves can overlap slightly short arms and legs, or the diver can push or roll up longer sleeves and/or arms if need be. Weight is a measurement the diver can usually ignore. It really has little to no bearing what so ever on the sizing and fit of your suit. The manufacturers do not take into account muscle being more dense than fat, so based simply on fitness levels 2 people can be the exact same size but quite different in weight. This measurement should only be used if the person is literally on the fence between 2 sizes in all categories.
Im looking for a wetsuit I can dive in temperatures around 14-6 degrees celsius in Australia. I was told to invest in a semi-dry suit although reading reviews about the Henderson 7mm Aqua Lock suit is swaying me. Is this suit a good quality, durable suit or should I invest in a semi-dry?
