This is a great product! It was just not right for my wife. She had a bit or trouble getting use to collar as well as the yoga moves to get totally into the suit. The construction of the suit was awesome, just not right for her.

Rating: Good Suit
Reviewer: Christopher D.
Tried the dry (on land) fit and it is a comfortable, well fitting suit. Online reviews were quite accurate that it fits tight and the zipper across the back is difficult. You need a strong buddy to get into/out of the suit. I usually wear a 2x and the 3x was absolutely necessary. Have not put it in the water yet - eager to do so.

Rating: Great Wetsuit
Reviewer: Stan S.
Very nice suit, I have had many wetsuits in the past but this is my first one piece. The zippers in the arms and legs makes it very easy to get into. The only drawback to this suit and the reason I gave it a 4 star rating instead of a five star, is the zipper across the back of the shoulders is hard to get into by yourself and it fells tight in the shoulders due to the zipper not stretching.

I love this item, the neck seal could have been made a bit longer so that there is more to tuck in though. I would recomend this all divers who are cold when doing multiple dives back to back, when diving in water ranging from 16 deg C to 24 deg C

This was one of the best scuba related purchases Ive made!! First time in the suit I dove the weekend in 60 degree water and while I was still wet upon completing my dives, I was toasty warm. Felt the thermocline at about 85ft but was still very comfortable. Would absoolutely recommend this suit for anyone diving in colder water.

Rating: Very TIGHT
Reviewer: michael martin
Its a beautiful suit no doubt, but I ordered a 3xl and could barley fit in. Im 64" 255 lbs but not heavy in the waist just muscular in the chest and shoulders. I could barley get my arms in and it was very tight around the shoulder areas. If you are a more broad individual i highly recommend getting a larger size in order to make it fit. Looks like a great quality suit though for 50 degree Pacific northwest diving.

Rating: Crazy warm!
Reviewer: Justin M.
If you have a problem staying warm in cold water then I suggest you get this wetsuit! Since I have gotten it I havent been cold once! It also does a great job of keeping me dry even though it is technically only a semi dry. The only downside is that it is extremely buoyant and I had to add extra weight to descend.

Questions and Answers for Mares 6.5mm Isotherm Semi Dry Wetsuit:

  • JEFF:

will this suit be to warm for non diving, more for water skiing and sky skiing my circulation is very poor and i am always cold in my ONeill dry suit that doesnt stay very dry spring and fall???water temp 55 air around 65 to75? thanks

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Jeff, this suit is made out of a standard neoprene. For the non-diving things your doing I would suggest going with a super-stretch material suit. With that you will have a greater mobility in and around the shoulders and legs. The suit I would suggest is the Aqua Lung 8/7mm SolAfx AquaFlex Super-Stretch Hooded Chest Zip Wetsuit web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-101/153758/Aqua-Lung-8-7mm-SolAfx-AquaFlex-Super-Stretch-Hooded-Chest-Zip-Jumpsuit---Wetsuit.html.

  • Mark:

Hi, I am 57" 160lbs chest 39". I would like the medium but they are sold out. Do you think a small would be to tight? Thanks

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

The waist and chest are the most important measurements for the fit with a wetsuit. Height usually will work even if it is one to two inches short or tall. Weight will depend on the divers body build and is the last measurement to consider. As long as the item is not used in the water you have up to 60 days to refund or exchange it.

  • Jeff:

I am only 510 will there be lots of extra length /material on the xl..Its a great buy

  • Cynthia:

Looking for a wetsuit for my 67"-68" 235 lbs, Son, who is spear fishing in Rhode Island. Is the 3x suit good for him and can it be returned, for full refund, if its not what he is looking for?

  • tom:

im diving in nome alaska is this suit warm enough for 6 to 8 hour dives

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

You may need a vest underneath or a 17oz dive skin for added warmth.

  • Cliff:

I am 66" tall (thin build) and am looking for a 6.5mm or 7mm wetsuit that will be "tall" enough for me. Any recommendations?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

At your height, Pinnacle may be the best manufacturer for you to look into. The most important measurements any time you purchase a wetsuit or drysuit using the manufacturer's sizing charts will always be your waist and chest/bust measurements. The suit needs to fit your torso correctly in order to do its job properly. Keep in mind there is no such thing as a comfortable wetsuit on the surface. You want it to be snug, but not cut off circulation to your extremities. The more snug it is, the thinner the layer of water your body is heating. If its too loose you will remain warm for awhile, but eventually your body won't be able to keep up with the greater amount of water flowing through the suit and you'll wind up getting cold faster. After that your height is a secondary measurement. The manufacturers realize that generally speaking your boots and gloves can overlap slightly short arms and legs, or the diver can push or roll up longer sleeves and/or arms if need be. Weight is a measurement the diver can usually ignore. It really has little to no bearing what so ever on the sizing and fit of your suit. The manufacturers do not take into account muscle being more dense than fat, so based simply on fitness levels 2 people can be the exact same size but quite different in weight. This measurement should only be used if the person is literally on the fence between 2 sizes in all categories.

  • Adam:

I am new to diving and I will be mostly diving in mostly 40+ degree water (New England). I often get very cold while snorkeling. Is this suit warm enough for this type of diving? Does a removable hood make you colder?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Semi Dry suits are the warmest wetsuit and are designed for colder water. The hood that comes with this suit is designed for it. As long as the item is not used in the water you have 60 days to refund or exchange it.

  • Owen:

Ive worn a 2xl 7mm Henderson but it looks like I should get a 3xl Mares here according to the charts. Is that right? Do they run smaller?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Owen, they run true to the manufacture sizing chart. Each manufacture have there own sizing.

  • Brian:

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Brian, yes it would be a good suit for him in SoCal waters.

  • Mark:

I am 61" 240 lbs 37 waist and 50 inch chest. Will the 3 xl fit me?

Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Good morning, going on your measurements the 3xl would be the suit for you.

  • Justin:

I live in southern California and recently became certified to dive. Will the Mares 6.5mm Isotherm Semi Dry keep me warm throughout all months of the year in southern California? My advanced course is coming up, so its going to include night dives. How will this stack up at night time where the water temperature might be even lower than during the day? Thanks!

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

IT is perfect for diving in S. California any season of the year.

  • Hedrick:

Are there any extra large available Weight 205 Waist 36 Chest 42 510
