Rating: Provides close up monocular vision
Reviewer: Gregory R.  -  View all my reviews
Works as advertised and easy to install. Have made 12 dives with these and no sign they will turn loose. Being plastic vs glass you have to be careful with buffing agents in mask. After talking to others seems most dive masks will not allow you to focus thru both eyes and lenses at near object due to mask farms and nose pieces blocking view. You will only see close up objects like camera setting thru one eye at a time. This works fine just did not expect it. Happy to be able to read dive watch and other items during dive.

Rating: Negative outweighs positive
Reviewer: Larry B.
the careful application was successful the lens stay in place despite several anti-foggings and rinsings, even gentle finger-rubbing, but the view through the lens is too hazy compared to looking through the adjacent flat glass. i use 2.5+ reading glasses, bought the same strength for my mask because i could not read fine print underwater on my dive computer, only the larger fonts, but no real help resulted.

Reviewer: Nicholas Liberti  -  View all my reviews
It was a pleasure to receive my order so quickly. I immediately applied the stick-on optics accordingly to the applied instructions and was amaze how easy it was and its durability once the optics were dry. This product has immensely improved my ability to read my depth and air gauges. If it wouldnt have performed as expected, my next step would have to get my mask serviced with a vision script. Thanks Scuba.com!!

Rating: Outstanding Service
Reviewer: Robert K.
After reviewing online and indicating, In Stock, order the DiveOptx lens. After some communications I received an email that Scuba.com was going to send me new masks (we ordered two, one for my and I) with lens that matched our prescriptions. The best part of Scuba.coms message was that they were only charging us the price we were going to pay for the DiveOptx as they knew that we were going to use these items for our dive trip in March. This was all done at their suggestion to apologize for our inconvenience, which had to do with their vendor, nothing that Scuba.com had done (basically out of Scuba.coms control). We were so pleased with the masks when they arrived and couldnt be happier with the Customer Service and willing to go the extra mile to right a situation. Thank you so much Scuba.com, youve got a loyal customer and will tell our friends to frequent your side for all their scuba needs. Robbie

Rating: Easy to install, easy to remove
Reviewer: David S.
My order for Dive Optx arrived promptly. The instructions contained in the package were easy to follow. I installed the Dive Optx without any difficulty. They are hard to see during installation - if you wear reading glasses, wear your glasses while installing the product. Diving with them allowed me to instantly see and interpret icons on my dive computer and camera, observe and identify smaller sea life and features that I missed before. I removed the Optx for some dives, where I would be touring, rather than examining, as I found the lenses a little disorienting. When swimming along, I continually had the sense that I was going over a ridge because of the focus change in my lower peripheral vision. However, they easily reinstalled for the next dive where we would be looking a smaller features. I plan on trying my next dive installing the lens for only one eye. The price was right, they perform precisely as advertised, and the ease of installation and removal was simple.

Rating: Dive Optix 2.00
Reviewer: Charles C. Plumley
The Dive Optix 2.o is a good buy and does work under normal conditions when following all the Instructions on the box. However, I found that they are too small and should be larger in length to fit Dive masks more properly. I will still use them in my mask be cause of the needed magnification. Thank you , Charles C. Rating: Let them dry REALLY well
Reviewer: Thomas Grugle
Not easy to install at all. Directions say to let them dry 24 hours before use. I did that and promptly lost one the instant the mask got wet. After letting it dry for two weeks, the one remaining lens works well and has stayed put. Before you buy, remember that water has a diopter or so of plus in and of itself (which is why things look closer than they are). So you may not need reading lenses underwater at all.

A little patience and they work well. Can see my computer and camera now.Cheaper than replacement lenses and you can change them as your eyes change.

i put these in a mask with in corrective lenses to give me bifocals for guage reading. it takes some time to get the lenses installed and positioned correctly, but they do seem to adhere quite well. i loosened one applying anti-fog after several dives, but it still made it through the dive - just be careful as you rinse.

Works great! A very easy, cost effective way for a 61 year old far sighted person to be able to read my gauges. After several uses, I did remount them to get rid of some air spaces (I probably didnt get all the air out when I first installed them), but this was very easy.

I wear contact lenses but cannot use bifocal variety due to astigmatism. However, this makes reading my gauges very difficult. Rather than purchasing expensive prescription lenses for my mask, I tried the Trident dive optx to allow reading of the gauges while wearing contacts. They were very easy to apply to the mask and can be removed to be placed in other masks. They worked very well for the purpose designed. Would recommend definitely.

Rating: cheap alternative
Reviewer: Milton B.
for $30.00 it does the job! it takes a little work to get them positioned right and to make them stay where you put them, but after they dry,(24 hours), they do provide the needed magnification to read your gauges. i did 6 dives with no problems, using sea s defogger, but on the 7th dive one came loose when i put the sea s on. i was able to position it where i needed it and pat it dry with a towel and dive with no problem. it stayed where i put it. if youve got the money and want to spend it, get a mask with readers built in, but if you want a cheaper alternative this will work.

Rating: Bifocals
Reviewer: Eugene Brown
I normally wear glasses with bifocals. My distance vision is good enough to dive without a prescription mask. But when I need to look at something close up or at my camera I need a magnifier. My problem is that I am one of those divers that prefers a single lens mask. The answer is Dive-Optx. And if your prescription changes you can just peel it out and replace it with the next diopter. These are a great alternative to prescription lens for the far sighted.

Rating: Works Great
Reviewer: Randy Smith
I followed the diretions to the letter (allow to dry for 24 hours) and could not have been happier. I logged 18 dives in 6 days and they stayed right where I placed them. I would use de-fogger before each dive and would let the mask soak in the fresh water tub between dives. Well worth the money !!!

Rating: Review: Dive Optx 1.75 diopters
Reviewer: Michael K.
After reading some other reviews of the Dive Optx diopters I followed the directions very carefully, including not diving for over 24 hours after letting them dry. I placed them low in my mask so they would not obstruct my views of normal underwater objects. I had no problems diving with them. They never came loose and they did help me read my gauges much more easily than looking through the top of my mask and trying to hold things "at arms length". I found that they are far enough apart in my mask that I have to read either with one eye or the other, I cannot focus on objects directly in front of me. But this is fine since my gauges are usually on my left side and not directly in front of me. I feel it probably is a good idea to install both eyes even if you can only read with one eye at a time. Sometimes one side of the mask would have a little water in it and interfere with reading and I could just use the other eye until I cleared my mask. I would definately recommend these diopters for people that need reading glasses and have trouble reading their gauges otherwise. I bought a 2nd pair to try in my snow skiing goggles this winter. But I have not had time to try them yet.

Rating: Great For Reading Gauges
Reviewer: Carl C Ibsen  -  View all my reviews
trident dive optx lenses are just what is needed for accurate reading of submersible gauges, underwater compass, small numbers and settings on our underwater cameras and anything else that one might choose to read, underwater. they are easy to apply and use. i have sets in each of my masks. these lenses are especially helpful for those of us who are a bit older and living with the inevitable changes in vision. i have sets of +1.75 and +2.00, which i interchange depending on what i am doing. how do you the correct strength? the primary issue to consider is the distance that you will be reading the gauge at. the higher the diopter number, the closer you will need to hold the viewed item to see the small details clearly. a good way to guesstimate what diopter you need, at least for me, was to try a set of the small reading glasses you find near check out counters in virtually every store. find the power that allows you to see the detail/small numbers that you want to see at the distance you would be viewing underwater and that is likely to be the lens strength you need. if your gauges are on your wrist, pick a strength that allows you to see your watch clearly when held at the distance it would be from your eyes, when you are underwater. if your gauges are on a hose or tether, pick a strength that allows you to see them clearly at the distance you use them. a great product and much cheaper than prescription ground mask lenses. the installation is easy and they are removable so you can switch them between masks, although i find it much simpler to have a set in each of my masks, including my oceanreef ffm. cc ibsen

Rating: Dive Optx gives you freedom in choosing a mask
Reviewer: Mark P.  -  View all my reviews
I applied these handy little jewels on my mask just like the instructions said to do and I could clearly use them to see underwater with my new mask. They gave me the freedom to choose the mask I wanted and not just the kind the dive shop sells and tells you they can put a custom lens in it for twice the money I paid for these lenses. If you have your eye on a mask but need glasses to see even under water I would recommend that you get your RX out and then order a pair.

as ive gotten older, i find i have to hold the fine print at arms length. theres only so far i can extend the hoses on my console :-) the trident dive optx allows me to see the remaining bottom time without having my dive buddy hold the console. the s are easy to install and can be placed in an easy viewing position for any angle. i did lose one on a dive trip when i rinsed my mask in a bucket and cleaned it with dish soap. it was quite easy to complete the trip using the remaining . ive already bought a replacement and ill be more careful with the soap and water on the boat.

The lens stayed on the goggles for the entire 10 days of diving. I could see things about 18 inches away that I couldnt see before. Albeit one eye at a time because they arent set up angle wise to focus both eyes at the same time. I was pleased with the product. They were inexpensive and I was able to see what I was looking at up close.

Rating: Sounds like a better idea than it is.
Reviewer: James Wolfe  -  View all my reviews
Being of an age where bi-focals are necessary, we decided to try this product to make reading our gauges easier. My wife is far sighted and uses a regular, clear glass dive mask. I am near-sighted and use a mask with corrective lenses. After following all instructions to the letter, we went diving. My wife lost her first lens while putting defog in her mask. The second washed out somewhere between the first and second dive. Mine stayed in a little better and I got 2 days of diving before they also floated loose. Even while solidly fixed to the mask, the lenses were of questionable utility. They are so large that it is diffficult to align them accurately and they interfered with my normal sight lines. Definitely a $120 mistake. If the lenses were able to be trimmed and then adhered more solidly to the mask, they might be useful but I doubt Id spend that much on another experiment.

I have reading glasses that are 175s so I got 200s to grow in to and they were just right. If you put them in just as thay say to you will most likely see double. Thay are hard rubber so thay can be cut with a good pair of shears. I cut mine on the same angle as my nose piece and installed them inward as much as possible. Once I had aligned them with my eyes you can see great. Its not hard, just a little fiddling around.

After 30 minutes of looking for the lens, I again reapplied, following the instructions to the letter. The lens came out again! It is now lost and I am not happy with it. I would recommend getting a Rx mask or glue in lenses. Thank goodness I had a backup with me.

I am very pleased with the Dive Optx lenses. Installation was as easy as promised, and they are indispensible for reading fine text on your computer under water. Just make sure you follow the directions and fully press out any air bubbles under the lenses, or else they can fog. Besides that, though, I recommend them to anybody who uses reading glasses.

These do work! After carefully following the instructions my Dive Otpx lenses were securely mounted to my mask. I have made 5 dives with them in, using defogger on two of the dives. I have had no problems with them pealing off or blocking my view while diving. When I do need to read my gauges the lenses give me a clear view. Well worth the money. I use the lenses only for reading. I dont think they are a substitute for prescription goggles.

Being able to clearly see ones guages clearly is a top safety consideration when diving. I can without any hesitation recommend them. Richar J.
