Rating: Must-have fin upgrade

I bought these for my husbands Mares because he was always struggling with the original clasps before getting in the water and at the boat ladder when coming back up. I have bungee straps and he was jealous that my fins were so easy to get on and off. He hasnt had a chance to use the new springs in the water yet, but they were easy to install and he already thinks they make the fins much easier to get on and take off. He wears a size 11 sneaker and the regular size springs seem to fit just fine while he has his boots/fins on. Hes hoping this is also true once wet. While I have not be able to get them wet as of yet, but the Mares Spring Straps fit perfectly on my Raptor Split Fins ( as they should being a Mares product). They are of excellent quality and not only feel far more comfortable but the fins are 100% more stable both vertically and horizontally when I move my feet/legs. Even without have gotten them wet, I have no reservation in recommending them to my friends and in fact I am ordering a pair for my son before we depart for the Bahamas. Thanks Scuba.com for yet another outstanding product!!

The description says it is a small but it did not fit me or my girl friend. I am a size 7 and she is a size 7 womens. It was more that an inch too big. They need to have more details on the size of the strap. It would be nice to have lenght from post to post.

just think.....40 min dive to 100 ft plus, strong current, great shots of wreck, hanging on swim platform in 3 to 4 ft swells, boat rocking, remove and hand up camera, and off come the fins without any fuss because you went for the the spring straps....like i said in the title....make your life easier

Having used spring straps before, I tried using my "universal" straps on my Mares fins but they didnt fit so I ordered the Mares spring straps which for some reason cost almost twice as much as the univeral model despite being identical except for the shape of the mounting attachment. The cost is the only reason that I do not give these straps a five star rating. They DID fit quickly and are much easier to use than the original straps both when donning and removing my fins. I think spring straps should be offered as an option on all fins since the unused OEM straps add considerable cost to the original fin purchase.

The Mares spring fin strap makes very easy to put your fins on and off . Their strap is the only one that works well with their fins unversal straps do not fit . Well worth the price for the ease of use .

the "universal" spring straps do not fit the mares volo/
volo power fins...this tradmark mares spring straps do.
they are pricey but well worth the money as you can easily
release your fins especially when you are getting out of the water and have to catch the ladder on the boat in current.
i have broken many a fingernail with the standard clasps on
the volo strap, so id to the new clasps which were difficult to open with gloves...spring straps are the answer

Anything that makes it easier getting into and out of the water is a plus.
The Mares stainless steel straps makes putting on and taking off your fins a no-brainer. They feel solid and comfortable.
