SusiQ - NYC USA

About Me: Musician, classical pianist, linguist, teacher. Diving since 2004. Rescue diver PADI, Nitrox cert. photographer and traveler..... want to see Thailand some day and Macchu Picchu. Loved diving from the first minute I could descend! Flying in total freedom.....what a beautiful awe-inspiring world... I wish I could share it with everyone so that they know how it makes me feel! I´ve also become ecologically aware of our seas and the efforts needed to conserve them and help them flourish. I adopted a turtle "Mango" at Caribbean Conservation Corporation! The latest on Mango is that she lost her transmitter and so the CCC has lost track of her! Bye, Mango, have a great turtle life!

SusiQ's Dive Slate

  • Got a trip to Coz. coming up in a month!!! Can´t wait to see how the reefs have recovered 2 years after the hurricanes.

  • Just back from Coz!!! Wow what a great trip. It´s been two years since I was there and the reefs have come back better than ever. We dived all the reefs furthest south: Punto Sur, Maracaibo, Columbia and they were great deep dives. What massive formations and the currents clipping along! made for exciting diving, but not so much for detailed photography as moving so fast, it wasn´t a great idea to let yourself get distracted..... but still a thrilling trip!

  • Great advice Susi, I am going to Anthony´s Key Resort. (Can you tell I am a spoiled SCUBA brat) They take care of everything but the booze and they have ways of dealing with that. Sport Diver just came out with the new top 100, I am already planning and saving.Good Diving!

  • Hi Susi..I just got back from Coz WHAT A BLAST!!I will be going back for sure. Scuba club was nice in that it was not very crowded and the staff was great. Let me know what you think of the tides resort and Dive shop. I will be going to St. Thomas in about 6 weeks. I am going to try the Bolongo Bay Resort/St Thomas Dive club. A friend suggested it for a quick get away. I´ll let you know how it goes. Have a great time in Belize

  • if i were to make a homemade diving tank how far could i go before becoming in danger

  • I would post that question on Scubaboard. I know a few folks have created diving pits that can be 16-20´ and some folks have built large aquariums and use Octos and compressors for air, but you will want to talk to someone who has done that before.
