  • Doesn´t matter who you go with, but do dive with a local outfit there. You can´t throw a stone there without hitting one. As I´m sure you know, it´s nearly all drift diving there, but what you may not be aware of is that seemingly safe local beach dives can be downright dangerous as this is one of the few places with thermoclines (where fresh underwater rivers mix with seawater and create underwater currents at depth) just off the beach hiding underneath calm initial depths. Dive with any local outfit and you´ll be fairly assured of safe diving. Enjoy! BT

  • Thanks for taking the time to respond. I kind of thought that but I thought it might be wise to talk to someone who has some dive experience in the area without any particular bias. Good diving to you.

  • Thanks for the comment. :D ´´Call me crazy, but I never got a job from a poor man.´´ Nice! :D ´´Massive amounts of SCUBA Diving.´´ I´m jealous! ha! I guess being a ´´YouTube´´ junkie doesn´t pay off... though those hours watching reruns of The Rachel Maddow show is slowly turning me into a lez (haha! nah!)- but hey! its the price we have to pay for good ol´ politics ey?? :D Given the choice, I´d rather get tanked daily. :D Here´s one for the road: ´´Scuba diving is itself a hazardous sport. To do it without any training is tantamount to playing Russian roulette with a loaded revolver.´´ --R. F. BURGESSDIVE SAFE!--Mitch

  • Scuba Club: never been, til I finally checked it out on my last trip ( about 2 weeks ago now)..... it looks good as a property. I havent heard much either way about its dive op. But you can find out easily on some of the Bulletin boards around. My own fave restaurants are not original, but Prima´s is great and so is the old Lobsteria now re-named Le Bistrot with great, reasonably-priced lobster..... Il Moro is still well-repsected and we went twice to Casa Denis near the Plaza..... stay away from margaritaville, it´s full of curise ship-ers...... We dove with Blue Angel-- a very good outfit..... I´m sure you´ll have a great time. Don´t miss classy souvenirs and Mexican crafts to take home at Los Cincos Soles (I kinda assumed it´s your first visit to Coz-- please forgive me if it´s not!) Enjoy!

  • Great!..It is my first visit to Coz, I went to Bora Bora in August (great diving) We dove with Top Dive. I plan on going to Rotan in July,(2nd visit..ok I´m an addict.) My wife and I were looking for a quick get away in during the winter months and some friends suggested Cozumel as a close fun dive location. I´ll let you know about Scuba Club. Thanks for the reply

  • Afterthought: Scuba Club is across from a big supermarket/Target kind of store Chedraui--- and a new bigger one is just down the street a bit -- if you like to get beer or junk food or fruit or stuff to keep in your room that´s where I´d head. There are also pharmacies closer in to town that sell lots of meds that can´t be bought over the counter in the States..... just sayin´ in case you need something.Cabs have gotten more expensive than 2 yrs. ago, but you may not ever use one (other than going back to the airport), since the SClub is so close to town.Enjoy! PS I´m a Roatan addict myself, and would certainly go back again.....myabe not to Utila which ligistically is more of a nightmare to get to and FROM!

  • Thank you. I´ve got a SeaLife DC600. I´ve been thinking about selling it to a friend and getting the DC800. Now I´m thinking more seriously about it. Seems like we´re all SeaLife fans! :-)
