| mimimachine - Toronto Canada About Me: I am a new diver and I am also a paraplegic. I am working on getting my advanced open water certification this year. I have a spinal cord injury at T7-T8 which I got in 1998, when I was 17 years old, in a car accident caused by a drunk driver who hit me. I am now paralyzed from my mid-ribcage down and rely on a wheelchair. I love the freedom that scuba diving gives me as well as the tranquility I feel when I am underwater. I am always looking for ways to feel free of my chair and diving, to me, is the perfect way to do that.I am very active, and fiercely independent, and wish to spread to the message that life does end with spinal cord injury and that disability does not mean that you are helpless! I have an adaptive extreme sports blog at mimimachine.blogspot.com and hope to turn my dive experiences as a paralyzed person into a documentary to inspire other people with disabilities to dive. | |

 | Hello Mimimachine, something you could check into is an underwater scooter. That would let you get around underwater with ease. If you have any other questions just give one of our scuba instructor a call at 1.800.347.2822. Your Scuba.Com Team
