Capt B's Dive Slate

  • Aloha! Please tell your son thanks for serving! For hotels here have your son look at the Hale Koa (military hotel in Waikiki) or ITT (like an onbase travel agency). If you want to dive while here drop me a line (dkiszak@yahoo.com)

  • Thank you, sorry for the delayed response, but I was camping. Yes, I will let you know when I will be out that way, and of course...I will be diving!

  • Dove all over San Salvador, but went on a boat diving. Never saw any silt, just beautiful water.
    Written by DiverChix on 10/26/2009

  • Almost took my first job in the industry at the Riding Rock Inn on San Salvador. Small island as I recall. Lots of iguanas too. Canīt beat the wildlife in the Caribbean.
Written by Capt B on 10/27/2009
  • Yes, that place is great. Riding Rock is the only spot basically on the island, except for the Club Med.

  • I know El Salvador well I donīt know about the rock? I went a lot to Lalivertad, the port for shipping, & Sonsonate, we had friends that had a beach place to go, I tried to get Osters but almost had a stroke trying to keep up with the local guy not using Scuba tanks! I got 5 he got 15! Where is the ROCK!

  • We were talking abouot the Island of San Salvador in the Northern Carribean. The Riding Rock Inn is pretty much the only dive operation and hotel on the island. They specialize in small personal groups with an emphasis on photography. There are also tons of iguanas everywhere. Itīs actually their logo.

  • Yes, again...San Salvador, not El Salvador. Thanks Capt B :) Loved it there, nothing to do but go diving.
    Written by DiverChix on 11/17/2009
  • San Salvador capital of San Salvador. Different place than what I was talking about?
    on 11/17/2009   Edit this post
  • But you were correct in that San Salvador is the capitol city of El Salvador the country. Seems as though alot of names were repeated throughout the carribean. Ididnīt know there was diving in the lake in El Salvador. WOndering if there was anything cool to see?
Written by Capt B on 11/18/2009
  • Interesting...I just kept thinking it was a mix up. Never been to El Salvador.
    Written by DiverChix on 11/18/2009
  • Thatīs what I thought, at least from what we were talking about. So where are your pix from there?
Written by Capt B on 11/19/2009
  • I have a few posted on here, the rest are on my computer. Havenīt really figured out how to upload them on Picasa yet. Not all that great with the IT stuff :(
    Written by DiverChix on 11/19/2009
  • Yes You can dive almost anywhere there. But the lake by the old air port is scary. I wonīt go there again. You sink into like a quick sand kinda.
