Interests

I volunteer for the Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association. I´m the treasurer and a research diver. MBARA has raised $1 milion to deploy artificial reefs on the sandy bottom in the Gulf of Mexico. Go to mbara.org to learn more.

Is there an actual dive operator in Mexico Beach? I´m going to be in and out of Mexico Beach this summer - my husband is setting up our little camper down there - and I thought I might like to try some dives there.

Thanks Carol...I have looked at Amoray and a few others....seems no one really has a recommendation that they are willing to pass on...I guess I will just close my eyes and point to a place and see how it goes...thanks for the response.

Hi. I just saw your post. I´ve dove with Florida Keys Dive Center twice on trips to the keys. They are located in Islamorada. I just got back from a short trip down there and dove with Key Dives. Both are fine. The Key Dives place sets up your gear and takes care of it for you, whereas with FKDC you do it yourself. There is, however, a place at FKDC to store your gear for the next day´s dives. As I compare the two dive operators, I found that FKDC took us to better reefs than Key Dives.

Hi Carol...The wife and I are thinking of diving in the keys this summer, have you got any suggestons as to the best dive group and a reasonable place to stay???love the pix..you just keep getting better and better

Bob, I´m so glad I can count on you for some positive encouragement. I´m doing the amazing editing of the pics right now because the Gulf of Mexico is about 56F---too cold for my tastes. I am looking forward to a trip to Saba and St. Kitts at the end of March. Hopefully I´ll get some good photos there.
