The goals of Assistant Instructor training are :

Develop instructional assistant skills.
Provide practical experience in teaching portions of various courses.
Provide practical experience in conducting skill development sessions and open water dives for various courses.
Familiarize you with standards, administrative requirements and certification procedures.
Prepare you for instructor training.

To become an Assistant Instructor training is divided into three modules:

Module One - Academic Training Sessions

Your Instructor will conduct presentations on the following: Course Orientation; The System of Diver Education; Effective Academic Teaching Presentations; How to Organize and Conduct Experience Programs and the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Course; Teaching in Confined Water; and Conducting Open Water Training Dives.

Module Two - Independent Study

Prior to each classroom session, you are expected to complete reading assignments and knowledge reviews.

Module Three - Practical Application

During the practical application, you are expected to assist with three complete certification courses, attending all academic, confined water and open water training sessions.

Course Fee and Schedule

All Assistant Instructor courses are taught privately so you can START TODAY!

Prerequisites: Must be 18 years of age and certified as a Divemaster or leadership level with another recreational diver training organization and have at least 60 logged dives.

Opportunities for the Professional

Assistant Instructor teaching opportunities include: certifying students as Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Divers conducting the complete Discover Scuba experience conducting the MEDIC FIRST AID Course (after additional training as a MFA Instructor) certifying students in non-diving specialties such as Equipment Specialist
