Scuba Diving Event April 1: Durham, NC, USA

Dive planning is often taught in a mechanistic manner: step A takes you to step B, etc. Good practice is generally incorporated, but the importance of individual actions may be obscured. This presentation will consider dive planning from an unusual perspective, as a retrospective review of electronic dive profiles ending with and without incident. Scuba Diving Event March 23 – March 24: Birmingham, United Kingdom

Twice a year the diving world gears up for the highlights of the sports calendar — the London and Birmingham Dive Shows. At each event hundreds of leading suppliers of the latest diving gear, holidays, training courses, leisurewear and boats meet with thousands of experienced and wannabe divers from the UK, Europe and beyond. The Dive Shows also attract world-renowned diving experts to the speaker programmes that run alongside each event. Recent high-profile speakers have included underwater explorer and Oceans leader Paul Rose, record-breaking freediver Sara Campbell, diving explorer and marine journalist Monty Halls, specialist oceanographer and leading environmental campaigner Fabien Cousteau, and specialist underwater film-maker Mike deGruy. Hugely popular, these presentations often have standing room only despite being able to seat more than 500 people. With hundreds of new ideas on the exhibition floor — plus the opportunity to try out and purchase the latest kit — theres no better place to go for diving information, advice and inspiration.

Scuba Diving Event March 21: Minneapolis, MN, USA

The Upper Midwest Scuba & Adventure Travel Show is sponsored by the Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society. The Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society is a non-profit, 501.c.3 organization established in 1996 to stabilize and protect our deteriorating shipwrecks of the Great Lakes region. The GLSPS sponsored scuba show began in 1999 as “Dive Into the Past” to showcase shipwreck diving, sport diving and maritime history in the Great Lakes. The show has expanded over the years to include: ocean diving, technical diving, and adventure travel. The UMSAT show is the major fundraiser to support the GLSPS projects that help preserve and document shipwrecks. GLSPS sponsors many programs and service projects each year to realize its purpose. These range from our North Shore shipwreck buoy program, to our Put-It-Back program, our National Register of Historic Places nomination program, and our shipwreck stabilization work. Each year GLSPS partners with Lake Superior Marine Museum Association, Wisconsin Underwater Archeology Association and Superior Museums to do annual maintenance and improvements to the museum ship SS Meteor in Superior Wisconsin. Membership is open to anyone. For more information about the GLSPS, please visit our website at http://www.glsps.org/ . For show information : Email: info@umsatshow.orgorPhone: 612 – 516-9070
