Re: Cressi Regulator

Sounds like the second stage is adjusted too light, so the amount of effort needed to start the air flowing is very slight. Bottom line take the regulator into an authorized dealer and have them test and adjust it. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.

Underwater flashes

I was thinking about buying the Reefmaster Sealife UW flash and I just wanted to make sure it would work with my camera and housing. I have a Canon SD950 IS with the WP-DC19 housing. Anyone know if they are compatible? Thanks.

GPS Housing Help

I am working on a project for a marketing class and wanted to get some feedback. I have to develop an idea for a new product. I am novice certified open water diver. I think a GPS unit that allows divers to find locations and mark them.

What do you think about a housing for an existing hand held GPS? I am thinking of a plate that attaches to the GPS and a water tight cover to go over it. This cover would be a one time use only after the seal is broken.

For my project please respond to the following questions:
Is this a product you would buy?
Is this a product you would use?
How much would you pay for this product?

Thank you for any help you can provide. I am also open to comments that might help improve this idea.

How to avoid fin blisters?

I¥m headed to Cozumel in July, and to prepare got in the pool a few weeks ago for a refresher with all my gear. After only two hours in the pool, my fins gave me a nasty blister on my left ankle. I have the open foot fin style, so I don¥t wear boots with them. Anyone have suggestions on how to avoid a week of blister pain when I get to Cozumel?

I¥ve thought of water-proof band-aids, although worried the fin will just rub it off right away. Also thought about wrapping my ankle with medial tape. Are there lightweight socks out there that would do the trick?

Re: How to avoid fin blisters?

Adjustable strap fins requires you to use some kind of boot to make the fin fit properly. I sugggest getting at least a 2mm sock to protect your feet. This should also make the fin more comfortable to wear. Take a look at

or if you want something that can be used as a water shoe also,

Bottom Timer

Years ago I had an Oceanic analog depth gauge with a digital bottom/surface timer. Does such a thing still exist? I am getting back into diving with my son, and I haven¥t been able to find one.

thx, Neil
