Hey you will love Cozumel its the only place in Mexico that you can roam freely on the island and never have to worry about problems( crime muggings etc) this will be our 5th trip i believe this Nov my husband loves it. Dont know what you have for accomodations ( All inclusive/breakfast only) But theyre are lots of really nice places to eat Guidos Italian, Frech Quarter Mix of cuisine Usa owned, Soricese Upscale italian but magnificent wood fired oven and wines, then El Morros great mexican food cheap prices but not easy to find ask a taxi they all know where it is. Weve rented cars and drove around the island to all the beaches on the other side of the island but not great for swimming as there is an undertow. Lots of neat beach bars going around the island Bob Marleys/Coconuts/Naked Beach/ Money bar, some of these have theyre own beach club and for a fee you can stay all day using theyre equipment o snorkel/sail/lay on the beach etc. Taxis generally run $6 per hotel zone the Town is split in three so if you travel 2 hotel zones you could pay as much as 12.We stay at Hotel Cozumel easy walking distance to town and the dive shop, if we get there and dont want to walk home its 6 bucks. American money works just great and the bank machines work cause they have like scotia bank there but you get pesos so know your exchange the hotel should have it in the lobby daily, sometimes weve gotten better exchange there than here.
