May 7 – May 14 2011 Medical Mission Fiji, Koro, OTHER, Fiji

Most people think of Fiji as an island paradise, but there are many children in area villages that are in tremendous need of medical, dental and optometric care. Join a team of medical professionals on a journey of compassion and passion. The 150 children of Koro Village, Fiji, have limited access to medical, dental and optometric care, screening and services. Our goal is to bring doctors, dentists, optometrists, nurses and their support staffs to Fiji May 8 to 15, 2010. During our stay each team will conduct two days of screening and treatment for the village children attending the local school.
Well stay at the Matava Eco-Resort. Located on the island of Kadavu, Matava is a secluded, manicured dive resort adjacent the Great Astrolabe Reef, one of the most renowned dive destinations in the Pacific. Our stay will include 10 dives, including the world famous Manta dive. Matava also boasts great deep sea fishing, surfing, sea kayaking and snorkeling.

history

exuma was settled after the american revolutionary war when many loyalists and their slaves migrated to the island, setting up cotton plantations which flourished for a brief time. exumas capital, georgetown was once suggested to be the capital of the bahamas because of its elizabeth harbour, which has a draft of 16 feet and made exuma a favourite haunt for pirates. since the 1950s, the harbour has been the site of the family island regatta -– the race of bahamian-made sailboats. popular historical sites include the remains of the plantations at williams town, the ancient tombs at rolle town and at moss town.

November 18 – November 18 2010 Laughlin Nevada Dive Vacation, Laughlin, NV, USA

Laughlin/Lake Mohave is less than four hours from Metro Phoenix and easy to get to from cities in Southern California, Utah, and Nevada. While the nights and lights along the shores of the Colorado River in laughlin are well-known, the crystal clear waters of the Mohave Desert and the hidden secrets of the lake are less known to all but a few of the adventurous divers.

Lake Mohave has many dive sites. On your Underwater Vacations Dive Adventure, you will visit several of them. Lake Mohave has visibility between 30 and 100 feet, depending on the bottom contrast, hidden canyons ready for you to discover, many wrecks including a school, bus, van and several small boats, an old mine-shaft and our little secret …. Lake Mohaves Wreck Valley. During the summer months, the lake is comfortable to dive in a 3mm wetsuit. In the winter months, the visibility increases like those seldom seen in this part of the country.

At night, Laughlin is a quick several minute drive from the lake. Entertainment for all, young and old, awaits. Take in a movie, plays slot machines, a hand of cards, or bet on the game. Laughlin has it all. Most importantly, we are well taken care of by the staff at Lake Mohave Scuba. They exceed expectations!

Friday Night: Arrive in Laughlin at your leisure on Friday Night. Your reservations are at the Colorado Belle Hotel right in the heart of Laughlin. Your hotel looks like an old steamship. There is mixer at the hotel between 9 and 10pm where you will meet some of our hosts from Lake Mohave Scuba. Get a good nights sleep, our diving starts the next morning.

Saturday Morning: We will arrive at Lake Mohave Scuba Shop at 830am. Together we will caravan over to the lake. Our dives will be at Cabin Site Point. Today you have 3 dives scheduled. During the day, you will visit our Buoyancy Course, several wrecks and have a great time diving the spectacular Lake Mohave.

Done diving? Rent a Jet Ski, play in the casinos or take a nap.

Saturday Night: We will get together, have dinner, and try the night life in Laughlin Nevada. Take it easy, we still have another day of diving ahead of us.

Sunday Morning: Check out of the hotel and head over to Lake Mohave Scuba at 830am. We have two more dives together at Lake Mohave. Enjoy your morning of diving before you head back to the rigors of your day to day life. But, dont worry. Lake Mohave will be here next month. Join Underwater Vacations on its frequent excursions to Lake Mohave!
