The Galileo HUD with Transmitter from Scubapro is an innovative dive computer that keeps you fully immersed in your dive, giving you more freedom when diving underwater. It has a floating, virtual HUD (heads-up display) with precision near-eye optics that displays key dive data in your line of vision. You can also attach this device to your dive mask if you want an easier set-up.

The Galileo HUD’s revolutionary design isn’t its only remarkable feature, as it also comes with a number of useful features for divers. If you’re planning to get this hands-free dive computer for your next dive, go check out our product review and find out what sets it apart from other Scubapro dive computers.

What We Love about the Scubapro Galileo HUD + Transmitter

Immersive User Experience & Vibrant OLED Display

Using the Galileo HUD, you can still immerse yourself in your surroundings during your underwater adventures. It displays your key dive data on a virtual display positioned at around three feet (one meter) in front of your field of vision. The display is a full-color OLED screen that makes data more readable in ambient light with bright colors. This makes data monitoring easier without you having to look away from your surroundings.

Simple Controls & Design

The Galileo HUD features an intuitive push-wheel knob that allows quick navigation within its customizable menu. When you turn this knob, you’ll easily access and quickly find dive control functions on the display. You can also choose how it’ll look with top to bottom navigation. The knob leaves your hands free to swim, take underwater photos, and more.

This dive computer also has a flip-up hinge mechanism built into the display so that it easily tilts up and out of the way in between dives. The screen does this as well when you’re not reading your dive data.

Advanced Diving Technology

the Galileo HUD dive computer display in use underwater

Just like its previous dive computers, Scubapro has integrated a few state-of-the-art diving technologies into the Galileo HUD. These include selectable diving modes, dual algorithms, and predictive multi-gas algorithms.

Four operating modes, namely SCUBA, Gauge, Apnea, and CCR, are available in six languages and different set-ups for the screen. And to further suit your diving needs, you can take your pick from two algorithms: Predictive Multi-Gas Bühlmann ZH-L16 ADT MB PMG or ZH-L16 GF.

This Scubapro HUD computer also works with Trimix and Nitrox gases, both of which are included in the eight selectable gases under its advanced Uwatec algorithm. There’s even a gas-integration transmitter that wirelessly sends your tank’s accurate pressure to the computer itself. By giving you this precise data, the Galileo HUD can take your breathing workload into account and determine your actual RBT (remaining bottom time).

Another feature worth noting is the Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops (PDIS) technology. It sets intermediate stops for you using your current and previous dive records, as well as your breathing mixes. This data is based on how much nitrogen you’ve consumed. You can also take up less nitrogen or off-gas more nitrogen with the Galileo HUD’s Microbubble Level range.

Compatible Mask Mount
